Eight billion humans are now living on planet Earth

Forums:

Cool. Every person can get his/her very own version of Franklin's Tower!

Half of the population still lives in just 7 countries: China, India, the U.S., Indonesia, Pakistan, Nigeria and Brazil. India's population could surpass China's any day.

check out the map in the article

But don't bum out:

"In many ways, demographic trends globally indicate that life is improving. We're living longer, thanks to declining child and maternal mortality, cures for deadly diseases, improved health care and other factors.

Extreme poverty has declined and income inequality between countries has largely lessened over the past 25 years, according to the U.N.

The share of people living in extreme poverty — less than $2 a day — has fallen from 44% in 1974 to 10%, according to data from GapMinder."

How many are in America now with Biden opening the border!?

Piss off nationalist derp.

Alan, it's stories like this one that always make me think of the observer effect, which in physics holds that the act of observation exerts an influence on the thing observed. It would be interesting if all 8 billion of us could focus on one thing at the same time sometime just to see what happens.

Your a tool Mikey who is anti-American who cares more about illegal people than all the poor citizens and homeless people who live in the streets and people who have kids that are dying with diseases and will die because the illegals get the money not the people born and worked all their lives here. FUCKYOU! EAT THAT PRICK!

Plus you think your so smart!laugh

i do wanna see the stats about americans living in extreme poverty in our presumably better world

including especially those we are taking in and protecting from their own national nightmares

at least we have biden trying to better things for more of us

Wow.

It's called English doolittle. It's America's language.

Since you're such a true American, after all your years and all your "world travels" you really should try to learn it. Especially if you're going to try to pontificate with it.

This is called Swingin' Like Kingman...

kingman_17.jpg

(For your sake, I'll  inform you that it means swinging at a pitch over your head, with your eyes closed)

Swingin' like doolittle.

So sad.

derp

>>>>at least we have biden trying to better things for more of us

LOL

^Doolittle, you seem uninformed

Democrats were able to pass the cares act, inflation reduction act which addresses climate change, pact act, chips and science act, reauthorized the violence against women act, American Rescue plan, and an infrastructure law.

Maybe you're willfully ignorant?

Regardless..."Illegal people?"

Your xenophobia is showing.

How about something a Republican would of been behind 100% in the past.

Biden's handling of the war in Ukraine has been a master peace in exposing Russia's paper Tiger of an Army. They were supposed to be the super power, where did all that Russian defense money go to? Straight into Putin's pocket. That should be the propaganda we should be pushing to the Russian people, where did your defense money go? This is why your children are dying, the blood is all over Putin's hands. Fuck their messing with elections, free our trolls to take out the leader with our own propaganda campaign

Indonesia and Brazil are far more populated than I thought.

>Biden's handling of the war in Ukraine<

I didn't raise this in my previous post because I wanted to address domestic issues, since Doolittle expressed concern about "Illegal people " here in the states. However, the Biden administration's handling of the Ukraine war may be the most important aspect of his presidency.

You won't hear Republicans speak too loudly about this. Afterall, many Republicans, and their supporters, were rooting for Russia early on.

Doolittle, what the fuck have Republicans done to address homelessness or poverty? How about access to affordable healthcare?

Republicans voted against the expansion of the child tax credit.

Hell, Republicans voted against the pact act, they don't even give a damn about veterans.

doolittle did fox news reinstate your posting privileges yet?

you should post there

Did I ever say I was a Republican!?

Nope not one time!

And I don;t have a problem with illegals per se. I know lots of them in my town. Many are friends. It's the caravans who say were coming whether you like it or not. Demanding to be let in. Screw your immigration laws And the Government is just sitting by doing nothing. Most people it takes years to become a citizen. My brothers wife took maybe 10 years to become one and shes educated and has a Masters Degree from the U of Md.

>Did I ever say I was a Republican<

This you doolittle?

If so, could you summarize your argument here?

>a prior post I had made supporting the case for the candidacy of Donald Trump for president in 2024<

I though we were up to 9 billion.  I feel relieved now.

I really hope that Biden addresses immigration over the next few years and shows the world that Republicans want absolutely nothing to change. They love the crises, the fund raising, and the votes they get, but they don't want to do shit about it. How do we know this. Florida legislature that is 70% Republican had the chance to pass E-Verify which is system in place to verify if your employees are legal to work. You combine that with fines for companies that hire people who aren't eligible to work and you cut off a major incentive. Did they pass it. That would be a big NO.

The Democrats aren't blameless here either. Asylum laws have to change. Right now you can claim asylum for domestic violence. We should actively work to stop domestic violence around the world but giving asylum to all victims of domestic violence probably means there are about a billion people eligible to immigrate to the US. That doesn't work.

The left ignores this whole problem at their peril, because with global warming it will only get worse and we have already seen Russia use it as a tool to foment political instability. A very simple statement from the left that we can't be open to everyone would go a long way.

Derp Meltdown > Community Jam

Nice work here people.

Alan R I used to hitchhike to GD shows in the early 80's in Cali.

Mikey....Meltdown!? Pffft!

Change your strain! Total bs talk!

>>Plus you think your so smart!<<

for some reason, this one never gets old

Agreed, Bss. Probably because it reminds me of the things you'd hear said on an elementary school playground during recess.

From the outside, it's an immeasurably low level of derp

and altogether just a stunning lack of self awareness

The type who bangs his head against a wall for days at a time because it feels good when he stops.

Mikey did your parents love you!? frown

A better question would be how many times did your parents drop you on your head, do-little? Gotta be a dozen times at least, I'm thinking.

Avoiding your upbringing hey!?

Yo, time for a couple of you to change your strains. Now.

Thank you.

>>>However, the Biden administration's handling of the Ukraine war may be the most important aspect of his presidency.

bahahahahahaha.  Just today Joe Joe asked for another 40 billion to fund the Democratic shadow war.  That's on top of the 40 billion sent earlier this year.

Democratic shadow war?

Russia invaded Ukraine.

Yes, Racket, stopping Russia and it's brand of fascism, from spreading might be the most important geopolitical crisis faced by the Biden administration.

But you're probably still rooting for Russia.

^Racket, what is your issue with this event?

Is Putin's absence upsetting you?

Buck up, Racket, you get to hear from Mike Pence, Benjamin Netanyahu, and several others.
