Edible Advice

Tincture.

Alcohol based tincture is about as fast-acting as it gets. If you can handle letting grain alcohol sit under your tongue, you'll be high in minutes.

It's pretty easy to make your own. Some say you have to let the flower steep in the alcohol for months, but I'm not sure that's true. I'd think that the THC would be pretty well extracted in a few days.

I like Vive, Petra and Vallaha. Well, until I realized that Vallaha uses gelatin. if that doesn't bother you, those were my favorites. Consistent dosage and really great buzz. used to buy Jolly Lollies but haven't seen them for sale. Kiva makes nice chocolates..

I recently purchased Wana (vegan) gummies to try, they kicked my ass. need to figure out the dosage..

My favorites are 1:1 CBD or indica. Maybe a mellow hybrid. The sativa edibles make me too paranoid, most of the time. 
 

I tried making my own edibles, really depends on the strain. Again, Indica dominant is my friend. low dose. I gave away my homemade sativa brownies to someone with a high tolerance, I definitely could not handle the buzz.
 

A lot of edible brands don't let you know whether their products are indica-dominant, or sativa, or hybrid. I prefer indica edibles later in the day, and have been happy with Wyld's marionberry indica gummies (100 mg in 10 mg doses) and Kiva's indica blueberry gummy Camino (100 mg THC/20 MG CBD in 5 mg/1mg doses). They're not fast-acting, unless you keep it under your tongue until it melts. I normally start feeling effects in about 90 minutes, but with the sublingual route, it only takes about 30 minutes. Any fogginess the next morning is usually short-lived and resolves within an hour or so.

I've decided I don't really like edibles most of the time. The effects are different from smoking cannabis, and I don't enjoy it as much. More of a body high, and more debilitating, esp. if you need to get shit done or misjudge the dosage. Most of the flower varieties I smoke energize me, but edibles usually make me want to slow to a halt.

I love to smoke, don't like edibles, but I do use Blue Dream tincture that I made and transferred to coconut oil so it doesn't burn sublingually. Sure isn't like smoking but I'm protecting my lungs.

Been toking every day for over 51 years, minus a couple of short breaks. Luckily, my lungs don't seem to mind - still have excellent lung capacity, can hold my breath for over a minute without any prep., and I had no trouble blowing out my single birthday candle yesterday.

I used to make 40mg brownies.....bad news if you had plans.... but now make 3mg olive oil capsules and love them.

One in the morning with coffee and one after lunch make the work day much more tolerable. Highly recommended. It's just a matter of dosage.

I like edibles for concerts, but not much else. That said, I have all sorts of MCT extractions I've made. There's the 1:1 THC/CBD, which is pretty smooth. Then there's the hi-test. I put 1/2 oz of bud and 1/8 of hash into 4oz of MCT oil. Even a small amount fucks my shit up, and I'm groggy for the whole next day.

Edibles make me sleepy. Sometimes has a lingering effect which last's for 2 days. Would rather smoke.

Does anyone know of a site with good sativa that will ship to NJ?

I love edibles and sleep so well. I rarely even smoke anymore.

My wife makes bread, cookies, past and my favorite big ole gummy bars.

She has lemon cookies so dialed in no one even knows they are 50 Mg each.

She uses the magic butter machine. It takes oil, butter and grain alcohol. Our dispensaries are selling 1/4's of shake on sale days for $17.50. 2 oz for $140 and that is enough for 2 batches of cookies and 1 batch of gummies.

Love me some edibles and they seem like they have gotten a lot cheaper.
