An Easy Pressure - Cooker Spicy Rice Dish Recipe

Forums:

So a little while back I got the Zavor "Lux Edge Multicooker".  It's a slow-cooker,  a Pressure - cooker, a Crock-Pot.  Even has a Sauté function.  Claims to make Yoghurt enlightened

Anyway I've been fooling with it,  and It is a fun and functional appliance.
Here's an easy recipe which made a tasty batch of Rice for a few nickels of ingredients.

1 8 oz. Box Jambalaya Rice (Zatrain or similar)
1 10 fl. oz. can Rotel Green Chile + Tomato
20 fl. oz. Water (2.5 cups)

Throw all in the Pot;  stir;  put Lid on;  turn valve to "pressure";  push "Rice" button.

Prep time -- about a minute

Cooking time -- about 23 minutes,  but you can ignore the passage of Time.  Zavor does all the work and keeps it warm.

So this was a test to see exactly how Idiot-proof the Zavor is.
Rice came out slightly mushy,  not chewy.  I expected worse with the additional Liquid from Rotel can. Really,  quite tolerable.

I did not add any Butter or Vegetable Oil.

Stuff did not burn or stick to Stainless Pot.

Anyway the darn thing made a nice side dish with minimal effort.  While Zavor creates the Rice,  one can focus on grilling their Meat,  Fish,  Vegetables and such.  Sure,  I've already cooked some batches of Beans and Brown Rice in that appliance.

This event was an experiment to see "what happens if you push Rice button and ignore it ?"

Next time I'll throw in some fresh Jalapeño and maybe some other thing.

Next experiment -- ordinary Brown Rice;  different flavor Rotel can;  live Hot Peppers and some Cajun Seasoning.

If you don't hear from me,  it didn't work out crying
