Saw it with my daughter who was there for Harry. I explained the real back story to her for framing purposes (they don't really teach history much anymore I guess) and we had a grate time. Saw it in IMAX so it was visually and aurally impressive. Good movie.
Luckily I've never been anywhere near a war, but I can't help but think that any war movie that realistically depicts actual war can never be rated PG-13.
Does everybody just fall down when they're killed?
I don't think that's how it really happens.
Still, like most other people even to this day, I'm generally fascinated by WWII movies so I'll probably see it.
Lance - you make a valid point and one I thought about as I am a fan of war movies. As an example, the opening sequence of Saving Private Ryan is some of the most intensely violent and realistic depictions of the horror of war that I think I have ever seen. Not suitable for kids of any age and even some adults. Dunkirk, IMO, channeled the fear of war without the gore. The violence is inferred without the bloodshed and outside of the dog fighting scenes, you only get a glimpse of the enemy. So the PG-13 rating fits I think. And I will add that even in the heat of battle, Harry has grate hair - or so said my daughter :)

My daughter saw it for Harry. She went back the next day to enjoy the story. She wants to go again, in IMAX.
