NYE RUN UPDATE

12/27/2021

Dark Star Orchestra has made the difficult decision to postpone our scheduled New Year's performances in New York this week (Huntington + Albany).

A few members of our touring party have tested positive and the health and safety of our entire community is of utmost importance to us.

While this is a set back, we look forward to brighter days of sharing music with our beloved fans, friends and family.

Our team is working hard to reschedule these shows, so stay tuned for more announcements. Stay safe and healthy out there, and Happy New Year! May the four winds blow you safely home!

Sorry to hear, that sucks!

Only show that I know of still in play is JGB w/ Melvin and The Kid in Arcata, CA, but I just decided yesterday not to make the trip from Portland due to the icy conditions.

Fingers crossed for the good run of shows that has aligned in Bay Area the first week of February: Zero > DSO > JGB > Zero Eugene (my fantasy run at this point).

Is acoustic Hot Tuna still playing at Freight & Salvage?

>>>Is acoustic Hot Tuna still playing at Freight & Salvage<<<

Yes, and it looks like most Bay Area shows this week and going forward are still on.

SCI in Chicago is still standing.

Hot Tuna is still standing, and they even reopened sales on the shows previously marked as sold out.

The Chapel in SF sent this out by email today:

In light of the current rising numbers of the Omicron COVID-19 variant outbreak and out of an abundance of caution given the daily rising numbers in the city of San Francisco, we have made the precautionary decision to close The Chapel until January 7, 2022.

Well at least they got "utmost" right in the announcement devil

Greensky Bluegrass just cancelled their NYE run

In an odd development, LOS @ Tahoe is only 50% cancelled, as Pimps of Joytime announced that they are playing w/ additional artists TBA >

Leftover Salmon have cancelled their multi-night run at the Crystal Bay Casino in Lake Tahoe after a member of the group’s touring party has tested positive for COVID. The jamgrass pioneers were slated to perform at the venue from December 30-January 1 on a bill with Pimps of Joytime. However, Pimps of Joytime have confirmed that they will still play the venue from December 30-January 1. Support acts will be announced in the coming days.

Too bad about the Chapel, that shuts down the entire week-long run with Ty Segall, but that old place gets packed and isn't the most well-ventilated room around.

I had originally been planning on going to one of those Segall shows, but based mainly on the venue that was one I had already canceled from my calendar.

I also had a ticket for a very cool show later this week at a little place near Berkeley that I had decided to skip as well, but that one got postponed so hopefully I'll still get to see that group down the road.

The way things are rolling at the moment, other than a 49ers game this Sunday and a private party at the Fillmore in a couple of weeks, there isn't anything happening for a while that is likely to get me out amongst the masses.

Laying Low is my mantra for the winter of '22.

Polyrhythmics cancelled Eugene and Portland, but says NYE in Seattle is still on.

I had tickets to Ty Segall's Fuzz, but the West Coast dates were cancelled/postponed. Have tickets to his own show next month.
