DSO Jam in the Sand roomie?

Forums:

So, I know better than to ever talk to strangers, but I'm seriously considering going to Jamaica mon to Jam in the Sand this year and do not have a roomie (seems that time and money are limited in most of my friend's lives...)

It's about $2k for two to book a room or $4k for a single person (hardly seems fair!)

I'm not locked in of course, but wondered if there were any wicked cool (like the coolest!) people here (other than US Blues who has a roomie) who would consider sharing space for a hippie music festival.  I'm pretty normal and easy going.

Now that I wrote this, it seems weird...but what the hell...

heart  Shakedown is very dear. Like exceedingly. (Testimonial)

Aww, thanks for your nice words Judit - a compliment like that from you I may just add to my resume ;)

Good luck, Shakedown.

I'm not going to Jamaica,  but just wanted to say "Good Luck"  and watch out for Zombies or other Cannibal types.

If they say "Sure,  let's share lodging expenses,  but do you mind adding a few Limes and a dash of Teriyaki Sauce to your afternoon meals for a few weeks prior ??"

Then be very careful...

I have a pal who is going who may need a roomie & yes he is cool. I will find out if he is open.

I like cool people.  Please let me know! Thank you Fark.

Doug and I wish you could bunk with us.  You must go. I'll pretty-please you silly, if need be.

This looks so tempting, I've never been to Jamaica.

China>Rider, I think I know you, but don't quite remember...we've met before, yes?

it is tempting, look at exactly how tempting here:

Hot Tuna too!  Bonus!

Hmm, tempting!  I just got a valid passport after many years.  I don't understand from your post, what would one person pay to room up with you?

Jackohearts!  My dearly departed springer spaniel's name was Jack O' Diamonds (no lie!)...this is promising...

The cost of a room is $1975 for double occupancy or $3950 for single occupancy (solo travelers have it so good and sometimes so bad).

So, it would cost you $1975  (plus airfare) and $1975 for me to share a room.

Right, plus airfare. But that $2k would be all inclusive everything (maybe even a meet up with a deadhead or two) for 4 nights (man, that's expensive!), and flights from my willywags in Maine to Montego Bay are running $500 (which doesn't seem that bad, actually).  Airport transport comes with the price.

If you ate and drank and swam and beached and danced and socialized enough, totally worth it methinks!

Curses you are tempting me.

I would seriously consider it Shakedown, always wanted to do this, but by the time I make a decision, which is usually only a week or two before a festival (not my fault lol), ..........it'll be sold out.

You and Peg should be roomies!

Tracy thats what I told her !!!!!!!

SSD, You'll end up having to choose in a lottery style for there lucky winner of your fab company ~

As it should be (;

And if the choosen Zoner "F's" with you we will hunt them down. I wish I could make this work, but can't

Shakedown is the bomb and who ever you choose will have the best of time.

If if falls through and you are bummed, we can maybe do the Cap in November. I'll come in my dreaded wig and speak with a jamacian accent the whole time. It won't be Jamaica but it 's the best I can do to replicate it on such short notice. I might even be willing to bring rum punch drinks :)

jklowan, I can't wait to see and hear you! and thanks for having my back. Me too you! <3

Hi Shakedown, I don't know if we have met?  If we did it was either in CA or at the Philoween Cap shows, my apologies if I don't remember :-)

I think the universe told me> something.  Maybe next year!!

China>Rider....I've spent time in both places so maybe?  I seem to remember that moment "oh, you're china>rider?!".  But, well, you know how it is with handles ;)

Happy September!  The best of the months!

That sucks, let me know if I need to dust off my dread wig :)  Love to see ya at the Cap on Halloween, I haven't made plans yet but am getting the itch
