People shitting in the crowd, pissing where they stand, puking all over, non stop talking, throwing stuff at artists... it's time we started behaving like a mature responsible audience
"There is a long tradition of people (mostly cis men, let’s be real) pissing into pint-glasses in crowds – and in one particularly horrifying Primavera crowd, directly on to my friend’s leg. Concerts by US psychedelic rockers Phish have become notorious for fans supposedly pooping with gay abandon since an infamous incident in 2015. You can see how it might happen in a boozed-up festival crowd or somewhere drugs are being liberally consumed. And perhaps the Phish experience is so transcendent it elevates the listener outside the workings of their gastrointestinal tract. More desperately, fans could argue they are counterculturally rejecting toileting norms, though this behaviour is actually relatively mainstream: urination was apparently rife as far back as concerts by Frank Sinatra and the Beatles."
in all honesty, i did once. traveling, you know...but it was before the show started. i got a fresh port a john....splashed blue on my butt as my dose was starting.
> People shitting in the crowd, pissing where they stand, puking all over, non-stop talking, throwing stuff at artists... it's time we started behaving like a mature responsible audience (don't forget the couple humpingat the back of floor in the corner, seen that a handful of times)
It's a sick world.
Biz opportunity there... Shakedown/lot enemas! Don't blame me, blame the shitters!
On March 31, 1986 (Easter Sunday) at the Providence CC, someone threw a bottle and hit Billy during Comes a Time. They closed with Truckin' and Johnny B. Goode. but no encore that night.
And the infamous lollipop that hit David Bowie in the eye in Norway in 2004. Between that and his onstage heart attack not long afterwards, I'm not surprised he quit touring.
Got me thinking that fire works used to be pretty common at shows in the 80's. People randomly lighting a string of firecrackers. I also remember one time in Portland ME a bottle rocket launching from the floor. My memory says it was timed for "Fire Wheel Burning In the Air" but that may not be accurate.
