Not really sure ... having a hard time discerning what could be going on here over the past week at the Manafort trial ... since the only stories I've read re: judge have been from Fox. Similarly, not sure if the judge is simply being very careful to dot all the i's and cross all the t's. However, from their "reporting", it seems as if the judge has it out for the prosecutor.

Oh Thom, you willfully deceitful piece of shit. Go enjoy your “QAnon” rally, get a slice from Ping-PongPizza where you can discuss Obama’s fake birth certificate. After that you can go stand on a street corner and inform everyone about the “Illuminati”, George Soros and the pedophile rings that are running the world.

Judges are allowed to have
Judges are allowed to have personal, political beliefs. I’d like to believe that very, very few would ever let their personal like or dislike of a politician hinder their ability to remain unbiased.
This isn’t about how a Supreme Court justice interprets the Constitution. He’s judging if a law was broken, and that should be beyond politics.

what the hell are you talking about anyway? the only “leftist” asking if there is a conspiracy is Face On Mars. He’s commenting on a Fox article. Are you referring to him? Then do so or paste some links to this “leftist conspiracy” about the judge.
Perhaps OP needs to read some more sources. I’ve read that Judge Ellis has been frustrated with the prosecution attempting to tie this case to Trump, which it isn’t. He’s admonished them for that, and he has also kept pressing to make the trial not bog down and keep it moving, I haven’t read anyone complaining about the judge, just commenting on his actions, some have said he’s pretty funny.
And no, I’m not posting links, go somewhere other than Fox and look.

Fox News is not known for their objectivity and is one of the worst offenders in cherry picking facts to advance a political agenda.
It is true the judge admonished the prosecutors, but every trial attorney has been bitched out by a judge a few times. Sounds like he got annoyed that the prosecutors spent days presenting the sordid details of Manafort's lavish lifestyle and ostentatious spending habits. Under Federal Rule of Evidence 403, the judge may exclude evidence if its probative value is substantially outweighed by the danger of unfair prejudice, confusion of issues, wasting time, and presenting cumulative evidence. In this case, evidence that Manafort routinely paid for expensive goods and services using money from off shore accounts is clearly relevant to the central issue of whether he failed to disclose income in violation of tax laws. However, such lavish spending on tacky shit might also be off putting to some jurors and it sounds like the prosecutors may have been pushing that angle a little too much. The judge needs to balance the probative value of the evidence with the need to get on with the show and avoid undue prejudice. As the judge correctly noted, its not a crime to be rich and throw your money around.
Same deal with the evidence about the Ukrainian oligarchs. The judge got mad that the prosecutors kept bringing up evidence that tended to show Manafort's Ukrainian friends were sleazy people. I am sure they are, but as the judge correctly stated, it really doesn't matter where the hidden income came from, it ony matters that he hid it.
In the end, it will be the jury, and not the judge, who will decide if this dude committed bank and tax fraud.

Some judges just just like to
Some judges just just like to give one or both sides a hard time, usually in the name of hurrying the proceedings along. From various reports I've heard that may be this guy's thing.
>>>>He’s judging if a law was broken, and that should be beyond politics.
Actually, he's not, unless this is a bench trial rather than a jury trial. Jury decides if law was broken, judge rules on admissibility of evidence, motions, what instructions to give, etc. Most judges are pretty good at keeping politics out of it but some of them do have some pretty obvious biases, what with the being human beings and all. I don't mean political biases, just your normal human ones.

As I mentioned, I hadn't really had a chance to look more closely other then the "articles" by Fox ... so wasn't sure if it was a matter of what you're alluding to, or if there might have been more of a personal bias interjected by the judge.
