I saw Dickey @ the Coltrane show last night & as my insane mind is currently troubled, I began telling him some stories & he asked me to write them.

I told this one on the PZ a few years back so here is a repeat.

LIZARD BALL

In 1982 I was sent to federal prison for my role in aa maritime smuggling operation from Colombia. My responsibilities included visiting Colombia (12 times)  purchasing fields, arranging the off loading in Colombia to our motorsailer, collection of $ in US, & all US ground transportation. I was convicted of Conspiracy To Violate International Currency laws (carried 0 - 5 years). In 1984 they changed the name to Money Laundering which carried up to 20 years. Lucky me. I got 1 year.

I was sent from SF to a Federal Prison Camp in the Mojave. Upon arriving I was forced to be part of a work detail. I was placed in a chain gang & forced to break  rocks with a 10 lb. sledge hammer in the desert sun. The Warden wanted a wall built. There were 7 of us on this detail. Two red necked crime partner  bank robbers from Bakersfield who were in their mid-20s; another So. Cal. white bank robber who was about the same age; a stupid So. Cal. white boy who got his 3rd DUI(in rapid fire) on Edwards Air Force Base & got 3 months; a black heroin dealer who was about the same age from Pasadena; a Mexican "wet-back"; & me.

We had two guards overseeing us who carried rifles. The fear was that we would attack them with our hammers.

In order for the world to not accuse the USA of slave labor we were paid 11 cents per hour which we had to spent in the canteen for vitamins, deodorant, toothpaste, & postage stamps, all @ inflated prices.

After collecting all the right sized rocks we had break big rocks into smaller ones.

We had to devise a plan to keep from going crazy.

We told the Mexican he never had to break a rock. his job was to sneak & catch lizards. He was to have 6 live ones in his pocket @ all times.

All day long two of us would square off, yelling & threatening each other with our hammers, & calling each other the filthiest names. The guards were always breaking up fights. While this was going on two of us would take turns breaking rocks in front of them so they could hear the noise & see the action & one guy would be behind them breaking rocks & making noise.

The Mexican would be behind them & pitch a live lizard (underhand) & the 7th man would use his hammer as a baseball bat. We spattered lizards all day long & never got caught.

I wonder just how many slaves that ass-kissing (sorry I meant prick-sucking) Donald Trump will use for his wall?

I am sorry that you are troubled, Crabneesh. If a side product of that is our hearing some of your stories, I'm still sorry, but so glad to have the opportunity to read them.

Much love.

{{{{{Lizards}}}}}

That's some crazy stuff, Crabneesh.

Take good care of yourself.

Crab- you have lived about a 1,000 lives!

was great fun hanging with all you Zoners at the Coltrane show

fun to say hi to Henry Kaiser- he’s a badass!

love yas!!

Thank for posting C'neesh! Love u man! Great writing.

Hey Crab. Hope you are doing awesome!

Thanks for the tales,  Mr. Crabneesh !!

Saw this one the other day,  and thought of you smashing rocks & lizards as I shoveled 3/4 - gravel in my red muddy driveway.

I get the stuff at the local Concrete plant for a great price.  A bit under 20 bucks for 3/4 tonne,  but there is no scale,  so It's more like 1 tonne,  or so.

First I put my order in next door at "Bamboo House"  for the Thai Beef Salad,  as they are swamped with military folks getting lunch,  it takes a while.

Then I park over by the Gravel Mountain,  and walk up the metal stairs to the dispatch shack.  The Huge fellow takes my money and either dispatches a Loader operator or runs the thing himself.  Pick up the tasty Thai food and shovel the stuff into the mud all day;  trick is to get it out before the Night Freeze so I don't have Icy 3/4 trap-rock frozen to the bedliner.

5-6 loads so far this year.  I wish I was getting 11 cents per hour.  Adjusted for inflation that might be $1.79 or so.

They get their stuff from 'Trap Rock Industries'  which is the big Quarry cartel,  and the only game in town.  Interesting history on their website.

Hope you and Family are well and that the insanity recedes.

All the best to both crab and dicky B!
