Put a fork in it. We are living in the good old days. I never thought I would see the end of democracy in my lifetime, but assuming I’m around for another 20 years I will. It’s a worldwide movement toward corporate/government authoritarianism. Not Nazi Germany, but more like what we see today in Thailand, Russia, Saudi Arabia, and China. That is the future of government.

Here are some musing from Sohrab Ahmari a writer for the NY Post, openly calling for, in so many polite words, the creation of the Hand Maids Tail in America.

Voters across the developed world have had enough… In the United States, this great “no” culminated in 2016’s election of Donald Trump.

“The only way is through”—that is to say, to fight the culture war with the aim of defeating the enemy and enjoying the spoils in the form of a public square re-ordered to the common good and ultimately the Highest Good.

Civility and decency are secondary values. They regulate compliance with an established order and orthodoxy. We should seek to use these values to enforce our order and our orthodoxy.
