Deadco Summer 2022

You can learn something new every day

Especially if you don't know very much

Vin Scully

I don't even know

What I don't even know.

Sonny the Joliet Crackhead

Reports that say that something hasn't happened are always interesting to me, because as we know, there are known knowns; there are things we know we know. We also know there are known unknowns; that is to say we know there are some things we do not know. But there are also unknown unknowns- the ones we don't know we don't know.

Donald Rumsfeld

Not my cup of tea but I am amazed on how large of a hard core group of fans they have. I have one friend who has pretty much been to every Weir included show in all configurations for the past 18 months. Every show with a VIP ticket. The amazement is that there is a group of almost 200 people who go to every show with a VIP ticket as well. Obviously enough people love it enough to spend a lot of money getting it.

Sounds like the Italian Springsteen crew

Sounds like the Italian Springsteen crew

Similar to the all the Springsteen crews of all nationalities. LOL. One difference though...no pay extra for being up front tickets at Springsteen shows and there probably won't ever be.

After party at Monique's new house.

Is this BS? Not on official DeadCo website anyway.

I just remember these Italian cats that used to come over and seemed to be in the pit every night

^Never mind. Of course it is BS.

I just remember these Italian cats that used to come over and seemed to be in the pit every night

I know who you are talking about and they WERE in the pit every night. There is at least 50 people that I have never seen NOT in the pit. I could write a book on how some game the system. The effort they put in is mind blowing. There are also some long time fans who have connections which get them in as well as some fans that Bruce has told his crew that he wants them in the pit all the time. So many stories...

Billy just posted this:

I wonder if BK will be able to play Colorado.

Since BK posted the schedule, I'm guessing that's the plan, although Jay Lane will likely be on call.

No love for the PNW?

Taking another look at the schedule, they've got 3 days between Shoreline and Boulder. Maybe a chance for BK to rest up and acclimate to the elevation?

...they are pondering adding SLC. not.

So I predict there will be another show added on July 4th, it makes most sense for this to happen in Hartford as well. So it will happen before the scheduled show on the Tuesday the  5th. Just by looking at the schedule, nothing else.

 is a 2nd leg a possibility?

i don't want to go too far out of my way to see them

is a 2nd leg a possibility?

Otiel has dates booked in Mid-September and Bob has dates in October so I'm thinking this is it.

I'm guessing Jay Lane will be drumming.

I'd say they intentionally did not schedule July 4 and will not be adding it either.

Band BBQ and party day!

>>>I'm guessing Jay Lane will be drumming<<<

That would be a real shame.

Billy, even in his now seriously reduced abilities, playing really nothing but the same tippy-tap beats over & over, still has the classic shoulder/hip shake natural rhythm that is the Grateful Dead DNA.

Even when that guy drops his fork it makes everyone at the table slip & slide their hips.

Agreed. I'm just thinking he has heart issues and may not want to risk the rigor of the road . Time will tell. Jay is too stiff in comparison.

Barry Sless is also from Baltimore

Jay is booked with Primus through what would be the Chicago DeadCo shows so the money must be on Billy feeling up to it.

Although DeadCo usually does list the band members by name in their announcements (but did not this time).

Good intel there on Primus!

......but apparently Tim Alexander is the current drummer for Primus.........

Even better Intel there, Woz. I was sort of wondering about something possibly changing along those lines.

Although DeadCo usually does list the band members by name in their announcements (but did not this time)<<

Irv Azoff knows a lawyer or two.

I bought tix for 6/13 and 6/14 at Shoreline this morning. Won't lie, part of the reason i did was bc 'what if someone dies in the band before I see them one last time?'

Is anyone else here going? Good thing I have a reserved seat to nap in during Shakedown Street, etc

random - RIP Kurt Cobain (2/20/1967 - 4/5/1994) 28 years gone - still a huge fan.

No need to qualify why you're going to DeadCO. I've enjoyed every show I've seen live, and 98% of what I've couch toured. I'm considering Bethel. That place is so nice.

Thank you friend. Enjoy as well.

So you bought tickets in case someone in the band dies before you see them one last time? Trying to wrap my head around this one.

I bought tix because I don't know how much longer Dead and Company will be touring. I've seen them many times already.

They are a one of kind unique entity.  I passed on seeing the Grateful Dead in June 1995 after my last show in Dec 1994 and now wish I didn't.

hope that clears it up. Thank you.

oh boy..

I am bummed about this as I like DeadCo and have fun at their shows .

then you'll really be excited for the final final goodbye tour next year.

Sounds like the band isn't really sure if this is the case. Somebody needs to get Mayer and the rest of the band in a room:

What a riot. Fake News by Rolling Stone? A finger-pointing attempt to boost ticket sales? Geez. Whatevahz.

This has Mayers fingers all over it

I was shocked to see two nights in NYC. Last year with just  one night, extra tickets were abundantly flowing at the door. Lots of empty seats.   I guess it's worth it for the venue, they can make a profit on beer sales alone.

> This has Mayers fingers all over it

Just think of where those fingers have been though.

Clearly, this has nothing to do with the musicians or the band, this is either just more modern day poor "journalism" or it's Live Nation playing games to boost sales.

It's my impression that there aren't too many things that piss off Bob Weir, but this just might.

Good to hear your comment Trailhead since I am coming back to NYC for Deadco at Citifield and the prices are ridiculous.
