That was the first time I've listened to a whole set of Dead Co. Pretty good, definitely better than other bits I've heard of other shows. Interesting Dark Star, Mayer aped a bit that he had heard of some '72 then did some nice improv. Also a nice Uncle Johns jam. It made me realize that I might walk a few blocks down the street to see them at Bill Graham if they played there, or at least hang out in the lot
if they stick to bluesy or straight fwrd guitar rock...they can shine...i thought set 1 in Dallas was terrible, and last night? sugaree, cold rain? right up Mayers alley, and set 2 was very good...unfortunatly, its not like they had an off night the night before, its just theyre too limited in what they (or prob most) can really pull off, night after night trying to "cover" the greatest live band ever
