Dead in the news

All fall down. All fall down.

Yup, Nino.      He had to work to hard to make that work

Yeah the Earth sucks, keep it up chuckle heads

Somebody else wrote that. That guy was just reading it.

If you're not into the Grateful Dead you're saying, "What the hell is he talking about?"

Pretty lame way to make the point, IMO.

OK, maybe that guy did write his own bit, and IMO he just read it poorly.

Either way, it was a lame way to make his point.

Melber tries too hard to show his audience he's hip. He's even more cringe-inducing when he talks about black musicians.

As someone who didn't have "tv" for 25 years, I finally got broadband about a year and a half ago ... and was able to start really "watching the news".  I was struck by how some of the personalities that people had gotten used to were of a completely different flavor than those I grew up watching.   Chuck Todd reminded me of a college dorm RA and Ari Melber was just a kid in the dorm who liked to tell long roundabout stories in a way that is very drawn out and cumbersome.   Somewhere in all of this, Wolf Blitzer became "rehabilitated" ... in the same way that Jerry referenced old whores and architecture.

I can't stand 90% of them.  The one thing that really bothers me is the way they're trained to be ball hogs.  Listen closely and you'll see how each and every one of them have a style that keeps the ball in their hands and doesn't allow for an "opening" anyone else with a live mic to interject.

Nevermind.

I have to disagree.  Melber knows his hip hop and even that which is pretty obscure and underground.  I never hear anyone in my day to day, let alone TV, quote Mobb Deep "Shook One's", lyrics - so its kinda great.

JR, I'm not doubting Melber's knowledge, but I do think he tries too hard (as evidenced in OP's link), and it comes across as kinda smarmy to me.

Fallback Friday with Bootsy and Reverend Al.
