(from Billy's FB page)

It’s Halloween — did I spook you? I just want everyone to know that I’m okay and I was sad to have to miss the ending last night. I wasn’t feeling well and the show must go on. On my way home, I took a little detour to the hospital but the diagnosis was simply that I returned to the road a little too soon and we’ve been touring just a little too hard. I needed more rest, so I’m going to get it now and be back full steam ahead to jam with all of you in Mexico. I can’t wait.

Love is real,

Billy

From the sounds of that, Billy will be sitting it out tonight too.

Wait, has John given Jay Lane the nod yet?

I mean; I just want to make sure these staffing changes have been fully vetted, man.

I'm not sure what to think. I don't believe that they'd release anywhere near the full details of what's going on with Billy K. (partly for his privacy and all that, which is completely understandable). I'm guessing Billy was tentative for the show and tried to make a go of it. He made it almost until the end. They obviously had Jay in LA and backstage ready to play at any time.

As for Mickey, I also wonder what's going on with him. Why couldn't he just finish the show himself (same for the Colorado shows)? He's not really fully drumming a lot of time, just adding percussion with those funky sticks he has. Sometimes when the camera gets on him, he's not doing much to add to the sound. I'm wondering if Mickey just doesn't have it in him for a full drumming show, or just doesn't want to do that right now, or anymore.

And, not to judge these guys at all. I can't imagine what it's like for touring musicians and especially at their age, and after the hard lifestyles they led.

Hmm wondering if seeing us in Mexico suggests no NYE announcement?  If they do it they will drop the news this week, almost certainly...

Also, heal up old man!

I'm guessing that Werewolves Of London got scratched.

As for Mickey, I also wonder what's going on with him. Why couldn't he just finish the show himself >>

Mickey Hart is not a play the time drummer. He is not a set the tempo and hold the rhythm drummer. He shines most when he is playing fills and polyrhythmic off beats. Yes he can play the rhythm, but that is really Billy K.'s domain. That man is a human Metronome.

Micky has been looking tired. Maybe not the road dog he thought he was.

no werewolves? what gives? i'd sure prefer that to Althea

Need molo

Molo doesn't swing. He's fine with Phil, Jay was great. Last nights show was nothing short of epic. And Friday was otherworldly good. Love Phil but his pickup bands got nothing on DeadCo.

Jamal AKA Jamal went to the show, and put out his version on Youtube, so enjoy (I've always enjoyed his song / album reviews)

(some nice shakedown moments during the first 5 minutes or so)

"Brother Weir with the Indiana Jones hat on..."  :-)  Jamal's review is fun, he is very perceptive of the show as an event happening on many different levels.

That Jamal youtube is way cool. Thanks for posting
