Dave Grohl Is The Nicest Guy In Music

Forums:

Dave Grohl picked a blind kid out of the crowd at a Foo Fighters show, invited he & his family on stage to watch the show, and actually walked over and let the kid "play" his guitar.

Grohl is the nicest guy in music, hands down. There are so many examples of stuff like this throughout his career, and it's truly awesome that a guy at his level in the music industry seems to be a genuinely solid human being. Story + vids below

Yeah, but I bet he did some bad stuff in high school

poor hounder...nuance & context are all lost on his tribe.

The documentary Sound City he directed and produced was good.

Yeah Sound City was great. I also enjoyed his HBO series a few years back.

I actually caught the Foo Fighters show in Denver a few weeks ago. Not really a fan of the band, but the show was very high energy, arena rockin' fun. They played about 2.5 hours, and the crowd was super engaged. Recommended if you want to catch the last of the  large scale arena rock bands outside of U2 or The Boss. There really aren't many left.

He's a real class act.  I own the first 3 Foo albums but I haven't seen Dave live since the last Nirvana tour. One of these days I gotta get to a FF show.  I can remember seeing Taylor play with Alannis at the Woodstock reunion and thinking that he was solid.

One of my fav's is when they bring the kid on in full KISS makeup and he rips through Monkey Wrench.

Not to take anything away from Dave Grohl but The Aquabats we’re super cool when we met them last month.  Even called my daughter up on stage for the encore.

That is very cool, Hoover. Looking forward to taking my kid to see them when she gets a little older based in your rec. Looks like fun.

Have you seen the video where Grohl pulls the kid in Kiss makeup out of the crowd?

I was just talking about this very thing with a friend a week or two ago.

I have heard from a few folks who would know that he is a bit of a prima-donna, but not in an asshole way, but I have also heard a few stories again from folks who would know about Grohl's general coolness, and a number of years ago I had a personal experience with Grohl where he was very cool to me for no particular reason, so I concur with the OP.
