Cowboy Junkies

Forums:

Saw this band for the first time this year with Redneck at the crest in Sacramento and it was one of my favorite shows I've seen in 2017.

i had been told by zoners like Brent kliss and mark D for years that they were excellent live but I was amazed how enraptured by them I was in person. Practically a religious experience.

i'm still not familiar with their entire catalog but I really like the trinity sessions, open, and one soul now albums.

any other fans have some recommendations?

Japanese Jam bands!

E,

The Trinity Sessions Revisited CD/DVD is amazing - especially in the 5.1 mix.

Another vote for the Trinity Session Revisited

RA on 200 More Miles - perfection!

MMMMargo.

Like buttah.

Thanks for the heads up, Tony/Zooey.

WIfe always love the Cowboy Junkies too, have an old cd of MP3 in my car for like 6 years in the CD Changer. Good stuff! Didn't she open for the GD or was that Edie Brikell?

Glad you had a good time E, but the one time I saw them at a Zootunes show here, they put me to sleep.

Olson was a huge CJ fan / taper if i remember correctly.

Enraptured? Really?

huh

I've enjoyed their studio work, but haven't seen them live.

A friend of mine once did sound for them, said he had trouble staying awake during the show.

i have yet to see them also. love their stuff tho

Sing In My Meadow is one of my favorites.

Was it cause Margo didn't have moves like Jagger?

it's totally ok if that was your reason.

I ran into lance at a different show the day after I saw them, he was a little surprised I was so taken with them but he also recalled Olson being the zone's biggest cowboy junkies junkie.

No, E, they just didn't engage me musically.  I wanted to like them, but, like your insipid trolling, found them tedious.

that's unfortunate, Dave.

but it was an honest question, lance even remarked how Margo only had one stage move of resting her arm on the mic stand.

he mimed it for me and it was actually pretty dead on despite their extreme contrast in physical appearances.

r we at least still on for the stones cover band project?
