Forums:

Anybody going to this tonight at the Great American Music Hall?

I've never heard of any of the other band members?  I wonder why none of the other original members are part of this?  I think they are all still around? And why Country Joe is not part of the Surrealistic Summer Solstice Jam?

Barry's still around- he's busy though doing his own thing.

Whatever happened to CHICKEN HIRSCH ???

an under appreciated classic of the psychedelic era.

Saw The Country Joe Band in 2005 - featured all original Fish members except Barry 'The Fish' Melton.

They were decent, but really missing Barry.

Love that album

Barry Melton is playing the Surrealistic Summer Solstice, hence Country Joe is not. Those two can't be in the same park together lol!

Country Joe is playing Sat. in Grass Valley. I plan on going, KVMR had a good interview with him today. He has 60 albums out. The program will include in its entirety  Country Joe & The Fish’s landmark 1967 debut album  “Electric Music For The Mind & Body,” along with an acoustic segment.

Joe will be backed by the Electric Music Band, a quintet led by Grammy-nominated writer and archivist Alec Palao. Joining him to accompany McDonald are guitarists Matt Piucci (Rain Parade, Hellenes) and Derek See (Gentle Cycle, Strangers In A Strange Land), Jozef Becker (Thin White Rope, Loud Family) on drums and Andrea Hensler (Flower Furnace, Jean Genies). EMB will be opening the show with a set of classic covers from the era.

Palao assures that the proceedings will “exceedingly psychedelic”.

I am ready to fly my freak flag one more time
