Classical composer reacts to a 74 Dew at Winterland

Forums:

This guy's one of my favorite reactors on Youtube. He's a composer who breaks down songs but occasionally he plays along on keyboards and he did for this one.

And right before the final jam he takes a rip off his bong.

I've been waiting for him to do another.  His Terrapin reaction is a lot of fun.

That was fun. "Nobodies in a hurry."

Hey Monkey are you offended by the name Monkey Pox ?

Chickens and small people have never complained

and right off the bat monkey's are making a howl about it.

That was fun to watch.

About halfway through, Doug makes a comment about the hopelessness expressed in the lyrics ("I guess it doesn't matter anyway", etc.). What's most interesting to me is how that feeling is juxtaposed with the passion and the liveliness of the music. Those two forces oppose each other in a way that creates a lot of tension, and I think that's really the key to the GD's take on Morning Dew. It's not just one thing, or another, but rather both in a paradoxical package.

Been watching Doug for awhile now and it's always informative on the music theory and fun to watch him fake play instruments; especially drums. I was going to post a link to this the other day and forgot about it. Glad someone else did.

I always got a kick out of seeing the expressions on the faces of those at their 1st Dead show.

I owe a great debt to whomever uploaded this.  it boggles me to hear after all of these years how complex our music is.  All the haters kept hating.  They missed it.

I spent the better part of 10 days in the same room with the boys.  Wouldn't give a second back.

I liked this one too, Terrapin. He also does some Zappa that is interesting
