THE CLASSIC EAST concert @ Citi Field - undecided

Forums:

Offered a free ticket to The Classic East tomorrow. http://theclassiceast.com/

Fleetwood Mac, Earth Wind and Fire, Journey featuring William Hung. 3 Bands I have absolutely zero interest in seeing, surrounded by sing-a-long baby boomers.

However I do enjoy the systematic study of human society vis is vis concert experiences. This one may have quite a bit to offer. I also enjoy alcohol.

It's a toss-up.

No brainer, go.  It's FREE.

Freedom's just another word for nothing left to lose.

I got comped passes to see George Clinton & P-Funk tonight in a small theater.  It's a no brainer.

I went to Sublime with Rome because it was free. They suck. Dirty Heads opener sucked less. I didn't feel bad about leaving early.

Today has the better line up.

Today has the better line up.<<<

True. Today is much better.

Great ppl watching....free....go to the show

I'd see The Mac for free.

I agree it's tempting for free, but I'm not a fan of Fleetwood Mac or Journey, so I can't say I'd go all the way to Citi Field. Tonight's lineup does look much better to me. Anyone know if Walter Becker will be with Steely Dan though? He was sick for the Classic West Coast, but Larry Carlton filled in so that's a damn fine trade off.

Lindsey Buckingham is worth seeing, one of the most under rated guitar players alive today.

Fleetwood Mac is definitely worth seeing, especially if Christine McVie is in the band which I believe she is, and Earth, Wind & Fire is harmless fun.

If Journey is the headliner than you watch a few and then beat the traffic, if not than do a walkabout and people-watch.

Go to the show.

No Walter Becker tonight either. Hope he's ok.

No idea how much effort & time for Tatters to get there.  Went for a Mets game couple months back.  Two trains, + parking added up to +/- 50  bucks or so.  Totally worth it for the novelty & good Company.  My first visit to the modern Shea.

So with a Free ticket and the proper Geriatric tranquilizers,  I'd go up for Earth Wind & Fire and Fleetwood Mac.  If Journey opens,  you could be a bit late and miss most of that.

Went last night with no tickets.

Easy train ride to Citi field from Manhattan. Beautiful weather.

Got there, the Doobies were already on. (sounded really good outside)

Scored a pair of tickets for $50. ($125/pr plus fees was face). They were tons of singles available as well.

Went down to the 100 section and scored sweet seats 10 rows off the field stage left.

Wasnt sure about seeing Steely Dan in a stadium, but they killed it!

Bummer about Walter Becker, but they had Larry Carlton fill in (who played on 3 of their original albums).

The dual guitartist of Harrington and Carlton was amazing.

Played most of the hits including my favorite, My Old School!

Kind of a weak crowd though, no one got up to dance until the last tune, Reeling in the Years.

Eagles were great! Glen's son does a really nice job on his dad's tunes and Vince Gill sat in and played and sang on a lot of Frey's tunes.

Classic music, Classic night!

I would go again tonight to see the Mac but I think Im heading up to the Cap.

Cool Spike. A nice review. Thank you.

I see the Eagles played "The Last Resort' I would have liked to have caught that, I've seen well over a dozen shows and no Last Resort...
