The problem is there are likely enough of these guys (below) who will go off half cocked ... let alone hate groups that have been eagerly awaiting for an opportune moment to exploit a platform or chaotic situation. It really wouldn't take that many incidents to stir up an escalation of trouble; and if Trump is either hell bent on or is sufficiently compromised to be issued instructions to stir the pot, things could get ugly very quickly.
Unless you are going to have whole swaths of the country say "Screw you guys, I'm going home." I wouldn't worry about another civil war. During the last one, 11 states just picked up and left, taking armories, navy yards, forts, and other military installations with them. Don't think we are anywhere near that point.

And if anyone is thinking about some armed conflict, you better start making plans for seizing (and holding) your local national guard armories, broadcast centers, airports, government centers, and transportation hubs.

It will be asymmetrical in nature (nobody's taking over the armory or TV stations) but the left will be motivated by their majority being denied again. Authoritarian rule breeds subversive actions and in this era there is no shortage of options for sabotage.
