Cinco de Mayo

Forums:

Let's here it for the Mexicans kicking some French ass.

Kind of a muted celebration with the all the Covid stuff, but raise a glass for Mexicans and Mexican-Americans like Pancho Villa, Carlos Santana, Los Lobos and all the many hard working folks who keep the American economy churning:

The 1862 Battle Of Puebla. First time in 35 years we had to cancel our annual fiesta.
Happy Taco Tuesday, too!

You have to love a venue that's so random that they have to tell you on the ticket what it's next door to. Don't see that too often.

And of course it was 126,000 degrees at these shows. Whoever concocted this plan should have had their butt kicked.

But the band stepped up to the occasion and played two pretty solid shows, all and all.

As I recall from my 6 years living in the 92% Latino and predominantly Mexican Southeast L.A. neighborhood of South Gate, California in the late 90's and early oughts, most of my neighbors considered it a contrived gringo holiday, and were more into celebrating Mexican Independence Day on September 16th.

Ugh, I can't imagine shows in Carson.  That place is nothing but oil refineries.  It ain't The Gorge.

Those were fine shows Local.  Hot as hell though.
