back in 2001 i sent gunner 50 japan blanks 3 months later i got 27discs back  in shows ~ true story

I miss those days

I still do CDs

I miss them too. Every day was like Christmas, going home at lunch to see what the mailman brought. Was trading & vining so many discs there were deliveries literally every day. It was so much sweeter when a highly desired show would show up. Still have thousands of discs on hand today. Some shows are still in yellow mailers

Japan Blue Fuji's were Taiyo-Yuden manufactured.  I could get them in 50 - spindles at 'Rite-Aid'  back in Oregon.  You had to watch out as Taiwan Fuji had exact same packaging,  except the tiny lettering "Made In Taiwan".  They weren't as good.  K-Mart had them sometimes too.

Those and the Mitsui brand were good discs.  I had batches of Maxell & Memorex CD-Rs that made a lot of bad burns.

good ole days

:)

I still like analog formats

I still burn cd-rs. They don't sell the Japanese discs in regular stores anymore, but you can still order them...

Sony are the only current brand worth getting in a store, Target has them. I've got a super old car cd player, it's the only brand that stores sell that will play in it. If it plays in that player, it'll play in anything, lol blush

Gunner was such a piece of shit. Tolerating folks like him was the beginning of the end for the PZ.

And then it was Zippy, and then just worse downhill personalities.
At least from my limited perspective. I never really kept up with many specifics in the drama.

Regarding the CDR's, I went through a shit-ton of those blue Japan Fuji's, and the other brands pressed by Taiyo-Yuden.

I always regarded the Mitsui's as top notch, though. A bit pricier, I tended to only archive things that were special to me on those.

Some folks, like that Deiter guy in...Austria(?) always used mitsuis.

Those were my favorite years on the zone, vines and B&P's and take 1 leave 1.

((( Coasters )))

Those were the good days. No cell phones and social media crap.

)))))downhill personalities(((((

I loved the made in japan blanks. Also bricks of maxell's from Terrapin tapes back in the really old days.

I agree gd fan sonys hold up well whatever else is left at stores is garbage
