Carrot Cake depends on that cream-cheese frosting which often ends up being cloyingly sweet and overpowering any flavor in the cake itself. Banana bread, on the other hand, if made properly is brilliant on its own, no “frosting” needed.

I've learned I can't make any baked goods at home and have relinquished myself to spending more $ on single servings every now and then. I will eat the batch of whatever it is in very short order ... very little will power.

Just as well, it's a cesspool ... although it's also an interesting study re: how the "wild west nature" plays out as a result of next to no moderation of phans. I'm curious about any legal entanglements the operators of PT may have found themselves in over the years regarding controversies that escalated beyond words.
for some reason, I find raisins to be far more neutral than nuts in baked goods ... it's strange, since I could make a meal out of any kind of nut by itself
the thing I don't like so much about carrot cake is the texture that is somewhat akin to coconut (which I simply do not like) ... however, for some reason I don't have the same issue with the traditional sweetened carrot desert at Indian restaurants
I think there's something about the texture of baked goods / pastries that I lean toward "smooth" (and not crunchy / shreddy)

This. Come zucchini season, you have to find something to do with all that squash. Chocolate chips are also great in zucchini bread.
