Cape Cod Coliseum - October 27 & 28, 1979

image_158.jpegTwo really great shows that rocked the Cape.

i find the recordings of these shows to be too 'plinky'.  can't listen to them.

You really had to be there. "Plinky"? Is that the audience or the official 30 Trips or the FM rebroadcast recording?

I remember it was so foggy driving back to Worchester from the Sunday night show that we had to lean out the windows to see the yellow line down the middle of the road and steer based on that --- there was no way to see past the front of the hood of the car. I also remember good tapes of the shows surfaced pretty fast (maybe Wise brothers?).

every recording of these shows i've heard has a very annoying 'plinky-ness' to them, not '85 Brent plinky, but plinky nonetheless

i can only speak of the recordings because i was 12 years old in San Diego when these shows were played.

Can't by a beer at a show for $8.50 anymore.

Cape Cod Coliseum, October 27 & 28, 1979. Two fun and really hot shows on the Cape. If walls could talk, the stories they would tell. Dancin' In The Streets > Franklins Tower and a Phil bass intro into The Other One that made the rafters shake. This was an intimate 6000 seat 'Slapshot' like Hockey arena that rocked for one great weekend in October 1979.

Yes, the Fog that Sunday night driving back to New Paltz was impenetrable. We took a long slow route from the Cape to Providence and then Rte 44 from Providence to Hartford thru every little red light town, then Rte 84 from Hartford to Newburgh. That was an interminably long ride in blind fog through the night. What should have been a 5 to 6 hour ride max, took over 8 hours.

Major Phil bombs in these shows

Those were shows 5 &6 for me.  Small place & a tough ticket if I recall.

I had many a good time at that place.  I saw Lynyrd Skynyrd there.  They backed up Jeff beck on the bill.

I was there. That Dancing>Franklins jam is etched in my mind forever!
