Can someone help me? Jerry & Merl content.

Forums:

So I was going through some of my cds earlier and noticed I had a Keystone Vol.2 Jerry & Merl cd.

Gave it a spin and really enjoyed it.  Looked it up and noticed there is a vol.1 as well (obviously...lol).

In addition to vol.1&2 there was another one titled Keystone Encores.

And yet one more titled Keystone Companions.

Are these all from the same show? Year?

I guess my question should be do I need to get all of these or is the Keystone Companions just vol.1&2 plus the Keystone Encores?

Any help would be cool......Thanks!

Keystone Companions is 1 & 2 plus Keystone Encores, and a fourth cd that contains a few alternate takes with the same band. Grip a copy of Vol 1 and a copy of Encores and you're good, from there you can always hit sugarmegs or etree to get some full shows. The crucial stuff is all on those first three titles.

Appreciate the infoyes

Going to pick those up for sure on Amazon tonight. Looking forward to those other cds.

Good deal.

Thanks Ateix.

DeadDisc is always my go-to for questions about Dead family discography: http://www.deaddisc.com/GDFD_Garcia_Saunders.htm

I went to one of those shows and sure as heck can't remember which one

I do remember the harder they come that's about it

And certainly remember who I was with and it  that it was freaking awesome

those boys could play

Oh man I wish I could have caught some of those shows back then.

Wasn't meant to be. I'm thankful for the recordings.

Glad you made it!

The open string Jerry hits, mid-run, during That's Alright, Mama remains one of my all-time fave recorded Garcia moments.

Scrolling through the deaddisc site and found Jerry and Merl backing John Fogerty on his second solo album:

i suggest downloading the jerry project torrents from 1973/74/75/ for tons of merl/jerry. some really epics gems in there, betty boards, and all the down n dirty jammed out jerry/merl goodness one could want.
