Busing Policy Debate

Forums:

Biden & Sanders:  against, apparently.

Harris:  for (but maybe she misheard the question).

Donald?

Really can't believe we are still arguing over this.  But one thing the busing debate did show was that ugly racism isn't confined to the South:

Funny trump quote though.

it’s A LOT better than each parent driving their kid door to door. if kids can’t walk to school then nothing wrong with taking the bus. make sure there are seat belts and WiFi and they should be all good.

maybe they can take those scooters to school too.

buses are socialism

libraries, also

the issue is school equality, economic desegregation and systemic racism , not really just about bussing.   the public education in most poorer areas was - and still is - not as good as those in neighboring wealthy school districts.  Integration and forced bussing  was an attempt to close the gap. And just a temporary fix that would lead to better education for ALL

The long term solution is to have affordable housing in communities where the schools are already good. And also better fund  the schools in the area‘s where there are  more economically disadvantaged children going to public school .  There really should be no need to bus children out of their neighborhood school district.

Yep.  Busing was kind of weird bandage that screamed out for better, more systemic improvements.

I'm going to wait for Donald's new policy.

Many people are saying it will be the bigliest policy ever.
