Interesting stuff and I'd probably go check it out if it was in my town.

However, the beauty of the dead is it's in the moment imprecision for me.  It feels a little too stiff.

Hey Zang. I felt similarly initially, upon first hearing about the Album 'The Bus Came By And I Got On'. I'm assuming you heard the album, which definitely sounds a bit more 'precise' than yer average Improv-loving Dead Fan might prefer. However, having seen the Live performance, (at Carnegie Hall, of all places!) I gotta say, Kristina's nearly 2 hour set was so filled with Dead-errific Chord/Tempo and Time Signature changes, that some missed notes or changes were almost inevitable. It was there, and I witnessed that Kristina's Soulful dexterity gave the evening an Improv aspect.  Well, to quote Miles Davis: "It's not the note you play that's the wrong note; it's the note you play afterwards that makes it right or wrong," I thought that she could really roll with 'the moment', and therefore she was pretty damn sensational!

Did you get to hear my Interview with her? That was really amazing, as she revealed in response to one of my questions, that Jerry was influenced by Bulgarian Woman's Choir recordings, which affected his Rhythms and Time Signature changes in Uncle John's Band. That was mind-blowing to me! If you haven't already, check out the Interview, runs an hour with music samples too:
