Edge of the West plays three extra special shows on the Big Island of Hawaii this month to benefit Buddy Cage, iconic pedal steel player from the New Riders of the Purple Sage. Buddy, fighting cancer since 2012 will be at the shows. We'll play lots of NRPS and Dead on this run, plus our usual mix of originals and eclectic rootsy hippie dance music. These shows will be in adventurous and magical locales, as is the usual Edge Of The West tradition. Come join the hookilau if you can!

Then next month, March 31 we'll be back at good ol' Humbrews in Arcata, with some other NorCal shows to be announced soon.

Greetings Friends!

Today is the first day of Buddy’s Birthday month! He will be turning a young 72 on February 18th. He has been relaxing and enjoying sunsets in Hawaii and will be there through the rest of the month. He is surrounded by good hearted, loving friends who are hosting a few benefits for him while he is there. If you are in the area and have a chance to go see him, please do so!!

We are all so lucky Buddy is with us for another trip around the sun. It’s been one hell of a roller coaster the last couple of years for him. Nonetheless, he has tried his best to get out there and enjoy a few shows that are in honor of him. The future of his health is still unwritten but it’s friends like you that keep his spirit flying high!!

I am proud to say, between all of you, we have raised over $23,000 just from this GoFundMe campaign alone. That’s not including the individual benefit donations that have and will be happening. I have been able to disburse funds to Buddy nearly every month since this campaign started. He has survived from your goodwill and encouragement through this tough time and he is forever grateful.
