Brexit

Forums:

Finally happening tonight at 11:00 pm GMT.

Wonder if they are going to miss all that cheap Eastern European labor?   We picked up some Slovak hitchhikers up in the Scottish Highlands a couple of summers ago and they were headed back home after working up there for the summer.  They explained that their boss only hires migrant workers because the Scots were lazy.

Speaking of Scots, they largely opposed Brexit and now that the Scottish nationalist party just did really well in the recent national elections, there is talk of another independence referendum.  It was a pretty close vote last time (45-55) and if the Scots vote to leave Britain, they will be itching to rejoin the EU.   In that case, they might want to have a "hard border" with England and it will be time to rebuild Hadrians Wall.

Is there going to be a border guard between Ireland and N. Ireland? If so how long until he gets blown up?

Not sure, but that was one of the sticking points that helped drag this out so long.  They certainly had a "hard border" there during the Troubles.  I guess condom smuggling into the Irish Republic was big business back when contraception was banned there well into the 1970s.

Wow that kinda snuck up, huh?  It's definitely taken a back seat to the impeachment trial.

because the Scots were lazy.<<<<

and CHEAP !

^ He's very pleased.  So is China.

Now they're just non union I guess? Weird. Definitely not going to be a good thing in the years to come.

There will be no border in Ireland.  Northern Ireland will still follow EU customs rules while the rest of the UK will not.

Right?

It's as if he got a bonus F-wit.

Customs will be essentially at the Irish Sea, not on land in the north of Ireland.  Traditional unionists not happy about it, but they’re pissed at UK not Ireland.

ironic that Irish nationalism isn’t the issue, rather British nationalism.

scotland going to leave uk

northern Ireland feeling they were sold out will also leave

you heard it here first.

The Brexit hysteria was all cooked up by Russian disinformation. Like turtle said, another win for vlad and another loss by the rubes. Smh
