Branford nye opener audio?

Forums:

Anybody know where I can find audio of the nye opener set he did with the fusion band he mentions In this interview?

anybody see it go down and remember it?

it's actually a surprisingly intelligent and informed interview for a talk, or news show, or whatever the hell this is from if u haven't seen it:

I have it on cassette.  If I recall, it was mostly Kevin Eubanks' material.

How good was it?

I think someone posted a link to that interview video here a month or two ago, and I went to the archive and gave that first nassau show a listen and have kept going back to relisten to it since then. Love listening to it when Im on one of my long walks around the lake.

Sorry  to sidetrack your question E. I actually wanted to hear that new years  eubanks/marsallas band too just because all these years of hearing eubanks in that jay leno tonight show gig, and thinking what did this stiff lay down on new years.

and 3/29/90 is as hot as any 72, or 77 show

That's a fairly bold assertion, fabes

What? that Eubanks is a stiff?

Maybe he means as a sidekick?

I listened to the radio broadcast that night and taped it.  Brick transferred it to cd for me a bunch of years ago.  I thought it was really good and enjoy throwing it on during a car ride.  I think the final song they do before the encore is called "Bird Song."  It's the song that they used to use as the "outro" music for the Tonight Show.

Nice find Lager

I dug it heavily when I saw it.  It was a fun NYE.

I knew of Eubanks, Watts and Branford and was delighted to see them not just open but jam....

That last link jam is the shit.....

I still want to find the set David Murray did before the 95 Mardis Gras show.   It was smokin hot...surely it exists.

Whoop der it is!

Thanks, lager!

and treble is right, that last link is especially early 90's fusiontastic!

Jazz?

Early 90's jazz fusion, u should probably take your pants off and dance around to it.

it's what Garcia would have wanted.

The last great NYE show.   The next year had a very similar second set and fell flat on it's face compared to this year.

Thom is on the $$...Of the 11 NYE shows I saw I think only 81 and 82 top this one.

Didn't Hornsby sit in w Branford? Am I misremembering ? Almost certain he did .

Yup
