I admit that I would not be sad if an assassin put a few dozen bullets in Trump's head, with no innocent bystanders getting hurt. I would probably feel gratified and amused. However, as much as I am a fan of a certain kind of mafia/vigilante style justice, I don't think a Trump assassination would ultimately make the world a better place, or make life any easier for the masses.
The 50% thing is apparently based on some UK stats saying that if you go on a ventilator...and come off...of those coming off the ventilator, 50% died.

At any rate, reports are that Boris Johnson is NOT on a ventilator, just on oxygen.
