Maybe you've heard? A nor'easter is hammering the east coast. I think we have about 4" on the ground, blowing and drifting. Be careful out there folks.
'Twas a balmy hi-20's -> low-30's yesterday, so I went out in the Woods and ran the chainsaw a while. Split logs after Dark & filled up the Truck. Even made the first Marshmallow Bonfire of 2018, because why not.
Today, however, is blustery, and the stuff is coming down. It's blowing around in all directions. Dog & I have no desire to go outdoors. There is plenty of Food and the range is Propane, so who cares if the AC goes out.
Actually I hate that, because then there is no Espresso machine, or hot running water. But I can still roast a Lamb shank and grill tortillas.
Something like a foot and a half here, hard to tell as it's blowing around & drifting like crazy, I tried to go out & snowblow but it all blew right back in my face. Not sure when I'll ever get out since the wind is supposed to be bad for the next 2 days (along with subzero temps) then warming with slush on Monday. But it's New England, we can deal with Wintah!
We got 4-5 inches of powder snowfall here in Central Jerseyland last night and today.
It started late, and went all night into today afternoon. Difficult to measure, as the Big Winds made it drift everywhere.
I parked the Pickup truck by the barns with Northern wind blockage and a load of Firewood last night.
Western winds blew all the Snow off the windshield, and the tarps over the Firewood stayed intact.
Subaru wagon was parked with headlights facing South. The North wind blew all the Snow off the rear windshield, roof, and created 10-12" drifts on the front windshield. Fluffy powder, and the wipers did not get frosted to the glass. I swept that all off today and warmed it up, drove up the Hill to the barns and parked near the Truck.
We have two-foot drifts around the Barns which face South. Big Wind and cold Temps tonight.
Every year they convince another hoard of easties to move west, which clogs our roads more & more and every year brings a new bunch telling us our pizza is lousy.
IMO if pizza was that important more of you would brave the cold and evil snow & ice and stay the fuck back east.
