If you can get past the VH1 "Behind the Music" storyline and some glaring historical inaccuracies, the new Freddie Mercury movie is pretty good.  Rami Malek provides an outstanding portrayal of the flamboyant singer in this big budget rock epic.   A fun way to spend a couple hours.

Spoiler alert - it has to do with the timing of when he found out he had AIDS and the circumstances surrounding the band's appearance at Live Aid.   They took some artistic license around that.   The recreation of the Live Aid set was pretty epic though.

one glaring example of an inaccuracy is that in the movie the band is coming off a multi-year break when the play Live Aid, when in reality they had just finished a world tour less than two months previously.
