Bob Seger, discuss please

Forums:

This artist doesn't seem to get much mention around here, but I feel many of his songs hold up quit well against the test of time. Heard 'Turn The Page' today for the first time in quite awhile, I think it is a great song.  Wish I had gotten to see him. Carry on.

We use to cover "Get out of Denver" back in the 80's

Who wants to go to fire lake?

He was good right up to Side 2 of Against The Wind, at which point, he jumped the shark.

Ramblin' Gamblin' Man stands up.

The theme to Beverly Hills Cop grew on me

hated it at first

I saw him quite a few times, he was always great. And many of his songs, while overplayed in their time, still hold up very well imho.

underrated gem here he covered in the 80s

Was lucky to catch him and his band about four years ago before his retirement.  Never a huge fan, but he put on a good show even though his voice was a little rough.  Couldn't believe how many of the songs I knew.  It was like 1/4 of all hits songs from the 1970s were Bob Seger tunes.

My one gripe about the show is they didn't do Shakedown.  Maybe it was because he didn't write it?

Beautiful Loser was a good album.

I saw him locally three or four years ago and really really enjoyed the shoe.

I played on Down Main Street with Who Knows? once or twice.  I think they also played Turn The Page.
