Bitcoin 2018

Forums:

Anyone still think it has a real future?

in 2019

In 2019 you expect it to drop further or to make a comeback?

Your post is vague and simplistic, Turts.

Your question is pretty vague and simplistic too, fwiw.

Can you buy pre presale tickets with it?

>>Your question is pretty vague and simplistic too, fwiw.

BINGO! lol

SHAZAM!!!!!! Whooooo-hoooooo!!!

Its future has passed.

Is wall St. Still in charge of the world?

me and my broken record:  "still stupid, headed to zero."

4266 to go

Bitbill is what is up for 2019

No not until it's accepted by central banks. It had its day and will now be tied to the (downward) fluctuations of the stock market.

Blockchain technology certainly has a future but mining takes up too much energy

>>but mining takes up too much energy

Unlike the joke above - this is the real BINGO moment in the thread.

 >>>  will now be tied to the (downward) fluctuations of the stock market.

stock value reflects the pricing of (uncertain) streams of cash flow.

stocks send me cash.

I like cash.

Even more than beer.

bitcoin value reflect the hope that idiots will buy your stupid claim to some math problem for more than you paid for the stupid claim to some math problem.

No cash.

ever.

Wasn't this for drug addicts buying on the dark web?

why would you need to use a "dark web" (that records every transaction??????? WTF?) to do a drug deal?

Honest question, you can always just send an invoice for legal services, or have someone buy a Condo...that way you have to pay (quite low) taxes, but that is the point of money laundering, it makes it clean.

clean meaning "you paid taxes on income" to get the money.

I'm really not understanding how "bitcoin" (or any cryptocurrency) provides something new or valuable.

My understanding is that mastercard can process a transaction 100 times faster and cheaper than bitcoin (wild guesses as to actual numbers, but probably close).

So what use is cryptocurrency?

"Another bullish investor, Anthony Pompilano, predicted earlier this year that a bitcoin could sell for $50,000 in 2018."

My oh my! He's not very good at predictions, but he is such a confident salesman.

>>>  will now be tied to the (downward) fluctuations of the stock market.

What I meant was that bitcoin will be tied to the current bear market, not the stock market ad infinitum

Cryptocurrency and blockchain are certainly here to stay and are likely experiencing the growing pains not unlike what internet companies faced in the 2000 tech stock crash. Too much, too soon

<<<He's not very good at predictions

Maybe not, I dont put a lot of stock in anyone's predictions anyway but he's also not making a prediction in the tweet I linked.

Hes just stating a fact or two.

Facts all come with points of view...

I'm still waiting...I'm still waiting....I'm still waiting....I'm still waiting....

3682 to go.

back to zero.

Pretty big bitcoin news.  Ohio is moving to allow businesses to pay taxes with bitcoin.  A desperate move from a desperate state.  Pretty sure this is actually signaling the end of bitcoin.

https://www.wsj.com/articles/pay-taxes-with-bitcoin-ohio-says-sure-15431...

Or the end of Ohio.

Or both.

SELL SELL SELL!!!!!!

That article appears to speak much closer to rational thinking than the rah rah cheerleading of that Pomp dude.

3596.

3400, time for a bounce?

SOLD! Brooklyn Bridge.

Who's getting this for Christmas?

  • Bitcoin  under new management. New for 2019 we are changing our name to BITCHCOIN because that's the way we made you feel last year.

Wonder how Pomp is feeling lately.

This thread is going to be so fun to bump later on.

Bitcoin doesnt care about your government shutdown.

You cant shut down the blockchain.

Still accumulating.

Picked up a little more this week.

Have more cash and more bitcoin than this time last year. (sold some at $17,900, not the top, but I'm ok w that)

Naturally the value of the portfolio Is much less right now but I like where I am going forward. I dont need college tuition ::and:: grad school paid for on the 8 and 10 year old just yet anyway. I have a looooong timeline and it's all house money since the end of 2015, as it is.

air bnb decentralized the lodging industry

uber decentralized the transportation industry

decentralized cash in this increasingly connected world is a no brainer.

I'm more upset about my traditional investments this year though.

93% of all asset classes are negative for 2018.

That's the worst performance since 1901.

Luckily the real estate here is smoking and that's my bread an butter.

Merry Christmas y'all and happy investing!

>>This thread is going to be so fun to bump later on.

Getting back at people on the internet is the best!

This thread is funny because OP is pathetic.

<<<Getting back at people on the internet is the best

Nah, just you specifically because you're a petty little bitch.

I'm sure you started this thread out of an abundance of interest in the topic, right?

I see you Suxor.

Really glad you laid down this marker though.

I love tough guys who feel the need to put me in my place. They are the pure pureness of purity.

Hmm...HL73, Popi recently told me there was a time when you and I were friendly on the old zone. I honestly did not remember it, but he swears it's true.

In that vein - I'm going step back and wish you much success in the future and may you earn a fortune in crypto someday. Enough to retire comfortably at least.

If you wish to bump this thread up at that time - it's your call, of course.

Crypto Craze Drew Them In; Fraud, in Many Cases, Emptied Their Pockets (WSJ 12/28/18)

SEC and state regulators have brought more than 90 crypto cases over the past two years, but tracing funds is hard because of the elusive nature of the currency

Is BTC dead yet?

Lol.

Anyone paying attention to this space for more than a minute knew this was a foolish thread.

Start  a 2019 thread.

I'm still holding some EOS but am just largely turned off to the whole space and how goddamn tribal everyone is.

>>Anyone paying attention to this space for more than a minute knew this was a foolish thread.

Still huffy puffy, I see.

"As of July 9, the investment instrument is yielding a 296% appreciation YTD — a stratospheric increase as compared with mainstream investments reflected in the S&P 500 (18.7%) and Global Dow (12.9%) over the same time period

Imagine all the money you could have made buying bitcoin when you started this thread.
