Billy Strings Tour tix on sale tomorrow for fans, Wednesday the 26th

At the Moda Center in Portland. I haven't been to it because my impression is that it's a big ugly place with no intimacy. Maybe that's not true, but maybe it is.

Moda Center?  Not going to miss the shows, but really?

At least it will be easy to to get to the shows via public transportation.

Anyone get an email? I haven't yet

Got em, let the anticipation begin

Presale code? Not seeing an email yet..

CALIFORNIASOBER

And now we understand the code

3 rows behind the pit smack dab in the middle Maybe should've bought on the side so I could sit more.

TM sucks. $26.50 in fees on a $69 ticket. And you better keep your phone.

The nuclear bomb shelter here also known as the WAMU Theater.  Hard pass.

Just got two night passes for the Moda Center.

That is a weird venue for sure.  Only show I saw there was Van Morrison.  But I am sure Billy and his boys will own the room.   BTW - he has cut back on the over the top EDM lights (at least on the three-night run I just saw) and is using more of the tasteful screens.

Ive seen enough shows in bad venues to know that when the show is good enough, you never remember how bad the venue was

Dammit all to hell, Fishcane, we're Deadheads!  If Set and Setting aren't important to us,  something in the world has gone terribly wrong. wink

Saw Strings Play the Sacramento Memorial Auditorium last year - Capacity 3,867

He's playing Golden 1 Center this fall - Capacity 19,000

Good for him but MAN that is one HUGE jump.

The older I get, I think I am starting to appreciate old adages like "good things come to those who wait", and "patience is a virtue" more and more.  In the last week or so, I've been given killer seats for Phish's second night at Climate Pledge Arena, and the Kraken's Game 4 OT victory (the franchise's first ever NHL Playoffs home triumph) on Monday night, also at Climate Pledge.  At this point, there are just so many other things than having to see a Billy Strings show (especially in a soulless venue) that I really need to do.  If the universe throws me a bone, that's always a fun surprise.

Billy's show this summer at Pine Knob is already sold out.

Lol, hey I was stuck with the Carrier Dome and Nassau as part of my rotation, I had to make do!

>>>Good for him but MAN that is one HUGE jump.

Yeah. he went from 600 people at a venue here at $20 per and $10 CD's a few years back to $70 plus $26 in fees for an arena that holds about 10,000.

PLENTY of good seats still available. Not sure he'll sell this out, but I'll have fun!

^Classic.

Fish, I saw the three Carrier Dome shows and all of the Rich Stadium shows.

Talk about set and setting....Going to the War Memorial after the Dome was almost like going to a theater.

Released today:

"Doc’s Guitar/Black Mountain Rag" was recorded at TuneSmith Studios outside of Nashville, TN with Billy Strings on guitar, Tommy Emmanuel on guitar, and Mike Bub on upright bass.

Amazing what a fancy light show and some special effects on an acoustic guitar can do.

It looks like the best venue on that western swing will be the Frost, and that brand new place in south Tahoe is a small arena right among the casinos, 5,500 capacity, so that would be a fun show too.

Ken, if what you say is true about more more subdued light show, I'll be happy. I wish the Dusters would tone theirs down. Gotta keep up with the Jones' I guess, but I don't need it.

Like cause some fool to suggest that these are what have been attracting music lovers to BMFS shows?

I kid.  But, Seriousliey?

And the video is 4:20 long. So now "California Sober" is in our lexicon. Nice.

Although I got my tix in presale, I went onto Ticketmaster today when general public sale started just to see what was happening at the Moda center.  Looks like they have all the upper balcony blocked off for now, which makes sense because it's a big place. I guess if the sell out of the floor and lower tiers, they will open up the upper balcony.

The war memorial here was sold out of floor and lower tier on presale they didn't hold any back for general. I got great lowers at the first presale
