Was this an early in the day show? SLC tomorrow night.

So, Andy. DId I oversell it?

My first live Billy Strings show.  New Tahoe venue, Tahoe Blue Center ($65 parking fee).  Ouch!  Long lines to get in but once inside little security presence.  Folks were dancing in the isles on the floor over half-way back.  I was standing in the seats near the back where the sound was superb. Toking everywhere with no in your face, how nice.  95% sold out, really good for Tahoe (holds about 5,000). Knew five attendees, only been here 33 years though.  Mainly a mix of older hippies (like me) and youth.  Older folks concentrating on show, consuming lots of alcoholic beverages, toking and swaying back and forth.  The youth drank too but mostly remained seated staring at phones or talking loudly the entire evening.  The new concert scene I guess.  Ran into some Billy Heads on the bus outside:  Sac, Frost, Frost, Tahoe.  They were mid thirties and not on too stoned.  Little tie-dye, kinda looked like a reform religious gathering instead.  Now on to the music:  Billy Stings is some presence, wow.  Started off just ok, settling in to the altitude I imagine or the last two at the Frost.  By the 3rd song "Long Forgotten Dream" Billy and his band kicked it up a notch.  By far, my favorite song of the evening.  Not being familiar with the music was difficult for me to follow along.  Alot sounding the same throughout.  Did recognize "Uncle Pen" and "John Hardy."  Started 8pm.  One hour first set, 30-min break, 1-1/2 hour second set including encores/bows.  All in all a most enjoyable evening.  Not sure at this point if I'm on the bus but would definitely see Billy and Band next time they visit the area.

And I bitch about $10 parking? Geez. That's NUTS! Must've been a show on 10-8. You confused me. There's a lot on the archive from Billy. And Nugs.

Yes, show:  10-08-2023.  Review:  10-09-0223.

i'm definitely not on the bus.

i mean, i'll go for a few stops. but i like my bluegrass blue...

I'm definitely not on that bus, either. For me, I like my bluegrass without twanging. Oh wait, I don't really like bluegrass. The psychedelic parts of Billy Strings I like, but no twangs, thanks.

I'm thinking the bus metaphor should probably be updated for Billy. On the tractor? (John Deere, of course.)

Nice review, Andy. What'd Susie think?

On the wagon.  Hahaha

I streamed most of the show, very enjoyable...   seemed to start a bit more frazzled than other shows (barely frazzeled, but...),  I blame back to back shows then the drive to Reno for a 3rd night in a row.

I find it cool that 2 of the players are from Oregon, not sure about the rest.  (Alex is from Corvallis)

Looks like you only posted a partial setlist, Andy. There's more second set and encores.

Nice Poster.  Thx for catching that Mike.

Great poster! How about for tonight, Billy on the top of the momo temple instead of the trumpet guy?

I'm calling a "Friend Of The Devil" cover for tonight in Salty Town. Not only a Utah song, but he DID light out from Reno.
