Two ripping good shows in SB. Sunday night show was really something to see! Billy played a solo acoustic and banjo set where the break is. He went straight through with no break from 7:30-10pm.

Great music in Ventura and Santa Barbara this weekend. I would have really enjoyed the solo acoustic set you heard, Pat.

And Phil's show tonight was so very good (on the stream). What a weekend.

I only caught the first set Saturday night because of some technical difficulties, and that set was quite good, but tonight's show was one for the ages. I can't remember the last time I danced so much, so hard, and so effortlessly. Plus, I got to finally meet PLF. Pics and more to say tomorrow.

It was a great weekend of music! Sorry I didn't see you, Mike. I did run into Shakey and Ms. Shakey the second night. The first night there was a set break. The second night the rest of the band left the stage at the end of the first set, but Billy stayed and played a few solos, saying that they didn't get to play as much as they wanted because of the early curfew at the Bowl. Love that kid!

Here is the first night - not sure if it will last here long:

Great Night Was Had ! Thanks Mike ! Billy Strings WHAT A Talent !! Both He and The Crowd Were In A Damn Good Mood ! nice to see.smileyyesheart.

(Not my pic.)

Two ripping good shows at a great venue.

Wow. Just got home from the San Diego State show.  8:35-11:00 pm no set break.  Fantastic show.

I listened to last night's stream. Holy macaroni! 27 songs no set break. Wish I could've been there!bssd.jpg

27 songs with no set break last Saturday too, Dise. Billy & Company seem to be loving their Saturdays in California.

Dise Is There A Way to Re Listen to san diego ?  or a download

Good show last night.  He's a little too polished for my taste but I like him more after seeing him live.  Haven't seen last nights show up to download or stream yet but I'll post a link if I see one.

some clips here..a beautiful China Doll.

I don't understand the "too polished for my taste" remark, Timmy. You prefer sloppy?

Yeah, I loves me some slop.  It's like he's the John Bonamassa of jam grass.

Strings is a way slicker guitar player than Jerry ever was but I'd rather listen to Jerry any day of the week.

PLF

Their sound engineer usually uploads the soundboard for most shows on nugs.net (they have a free trial) a couple days after the show. Worth checking archive as well (it's not there yet, but check out Santa Barbara for now). Give it time

Okay, Tim. I feel the same way about Béla Fleck's playing. Certainly nothing about Billy Strings though strikes me as that, but to each his own. I'll take Billy "Slick" Strings anyday and then some.

Shit if I could see Jerry's band play there'd be no contest but the bands are so different I'm not sure it's a fair comparison.

>  I like him more after seeing him live.

I'm going to skip right over the "too polished" assessment and ask what made you like him more, Timmy?
