My uncle Robert took me to my first rock show - Alice Cooper's Billion Dollar Babies tour at Madison Square Garden. When my parents found out who Alice Cooper was and his stage antics, my uncle took a lot of crap. After a day or two of tense interactions between my parents and my uncle, he came up with a plan to smooth the roiled waters. Later that week, he took me for my first visit to Washington DC. On Saturday we did the usual DC stuff, the monuments, Smithsonian, etc. We met up with some of his friends at a local campgroung that night. Sunday he took me to see another concert. my first Grateful Dead/Allman Brothers show. We decided it was best not to tell my parents about that.
Ol' Vincent is a pretty slick guy, and I'm a fan of the music. Had to suck a bit to be stuck in that persona your entire career, but I'm sure he banked some dough.
