Homeowners don't want the working class people to live downtown near their jobs anymore. 

It's a fire hazard.

Wherever the jobs go the housing goes up and sucks up all the earnings of most of the employees. Then the corporations get a new sweetheart tax deal in another state and moves and the process starts again. It's called the "Housing Lottery" should you be lucky enough to get a Amazon, Apple or Google office to locate nearby.

Then why the rich guy in Orinda renting out (Airbnb) his pad for hood rat parties. Old saying I've been hearing since moving here in 1993 that if you make $100,000 in California your a working stiff.

Less than 1000 residents work here.
