The Belmont

Forums:

While it historically has been the 3rd leg of the Triple Crown this year it is the 1st & is on the Saturday June 20. It has a smaller field than the Derby.

Looking at the post positions, speed figures, odds, trainers/jockeys, pedigrees, predicted track conditions & 2020 performances I believe the winner will be Tiz The Law (#8) @ 6/5, the dead on favorite. Even with a shorter field (10 horses) I believe that a Show bet (meaning the horse must come in 1st, 2nd or 3rd) it will pay $4.00 on a $2.00 bet. A chance to double up. A very safe bet.

For those who like to gamble I like the $1 SuperFecta Key with one horse in the winner's position followed by 5 horses in the 2nd, 3rd & 4th positions. This $1 bet costs $60. My guess is it will pay about $500 - $700 on my selections.

I am thinking of the following 2 $1 SuperFecta Key bets.

# 8 to win; #s 1,2,3,5,or 9 in 2nd place; #s 1,2,3,5,or 9 in 3rd place; & #s 1,2,3,5, or 9 in 4th place. A $60 bet.

#1 to win; #s 2,3,5,8, or 9 in 2nd place; #s 2,3,5,8,or 9 in 3rd place; & #s 2,3,5,8, or 9 in 4th place. A $60 bet.

Total $120 for the 2 SuperFecta Key bets.

If I bet $200 on #8 Tiz The Law to Show & it comes close to doubling up & then lose my SuperFecta bets I still should break even.

Worst case I lose $320, or break even, or win a few bucks.

It is a horse race.

Let me know what you think.

Will the lack of fans in attendance placing bets alter the betting line?

Upside-Down Triple Crown...

I read a lot of people who bet on sports have turned to day trading during the lockdown because it's either that or bet on Belarus soccer games.

I just went to fanduel to see if I could bet there.  What the fuck are COD, LOL, EPL, SNBA, DRL and ENFL?

Had a freebee. I went 8,2,9.  But that is the only contest I can find on the daily sites.

Where do you bet Crab?  Call or text if you want.

& a good time was had.

I never got to place a bet. I wanted to go to Reno but didn't & I could have used a person back East but didn't.

The horse to win came in as predicted by me & Mark D. I believe that if the Derby & Preakness were not postponed we would have a Triple Crown Winner.

My SuperFecta selections did not.

It was a good day but:

"C'est la vie", say the old folks, it goes to show you never can tell".

I didn't like the setup.

They didn't run all the way around the track!

I'm not a non horse racing fan but I like to watch these things, and for a casual observer like me the best part of watching these deals is how they go through all the corners, all the way around the track.

Everything in the universe is orbital, horse races should be too.

I won 42 cents on the fanduel freebee but that was only bet I got down.  Checked out the DRF site, but I don't bet horses enough to sign up there.
