Believe It or Not should have become a staple for late era JGB.

Natch.

Beautiful song, so glad I caught one  heart

Nice song but I thought it lacked soul.

^Soul comes from the performer/performance.

I liked the tune. Was much better than Built to Last, IMO

Couldn't agree more. Bummed that I never caught one.

Totally with you on that.

Alpine 1988 was my only time seeing it.

100 degree temperatures that tour sucked, though!

I caught the debut, and the one at the Spectrum that September 9th.  I enjoyed both versions and both those runs.  I also did the 9 show run at MSG after Philly, and while Jerry did a bunch of repeats during that run, for some reason he didn't play it at those shows, saving the last '88 version for Dallas a month later.  They only played it one more time, in 1990 in Toronto.

Oddly, according to setlists.com, DSO has performed it most, 21 times.

I thought it was a good tune.  It would have fit right in with the JGB.

The Weight would have worked for JGB too.

I was at the Reuben & Cerise bust out at the Capitol Centre in '91.  At first, I thought they were going into Gomorrah.  Wonder why Jerry decided to try it in the GD repertoire?

Saw it in Philly 9/9/88. Never really listened to it much. I remember Kreutzman at that show come bounding up the stairs with happy energy flailing his arms around.  I had tickets behind stage.

Listening now. Understand why it was cut.

"I thought it lacked soul."

The bridge had plenty of soul.

Good song and like "World to Give" should have been kept in the rotation.

World to Give was being played by Dead and Co. this past Saturday on the replay stream and my wife said, "You would rip this song a part if it came on the radio".  It's a swet song but not that great.

100 degree temperatures that tour sucked, though!>>>

Rochester was jacket weather, loved that show, 2 solid sets and perfect placement of Believe it or Not, seeing it again in the ballad slot on 9/8 didn't work quite as well

Sweater weather next stop in Oxford, one of the best shows of '88 on Saturday.

The Igloo after the sweatbox in Buckeye was a welcome change.

Sold my Alpine tickets and gave away my reservation at the resort, reports were it took them until night 4 to get their act together.

It has so many JGB references. I hear Love in the Afternoon, Lucky old Sun, Gomorrah,
