i was going to drive there, in my massive oversize deisel truck. super lift with duelies, and a stacker function... you know, i belch black smoke out my pipes.....
One of the big reasons I moved out two years ago. Continuous population growth with no increase in transportation infrastructure. The boom and bust cycle of the economy has meant that just when it would get to the breaking point another bust would happen and ease off for a while and everyone would forget.
grew up driving in the boston area and thought i had seen the worst until i moved to the bay. had a commute from crockett to redwood city for a while that was brutal but even just running errands or whatever in the east bay was always a chore. don't miss that aspect of living there at all but if i could afford it i'd move back in a heartbeat regardless of the traffic. seems like a reasonable tradeoff for all the benefits that come from living in that area.
