Bands that are gay but not homosexual

Could you define "gay" in this context please.

Because I'm not really seeing your point.

Maybe in this context, Lance. A guess.

I'm with Lance, but was amused by Jaz's selection.

What are you talking about, please, Tatters?

When in doubt (as in WTF?), whip Southpark out...

I'm hoping that's not it, Noodler.

That's a guy thing, when in doubt whip it out, right?

I dunno, that would be pretty gay...

Why would that be pretty gay? It seems to me that it's not a sexual thing, just a guy thing.

Sanders said "The term was originally used to mean "carefree", "happy", or "bright and showy".

This is a homophobic thread that is using the word gay to project a negative connotation.  Tatters is a right winger which also adds context. 30 day timeout would be the correct action taken by admin.

Judit, I'm just talking about bands that evoke an elevated level of mirthful gamesmanship.

JR for the record, I'm an independent who votes consistently, if not always, across the liberal spectrum. I also campaigned for Willie Brown in the mid 90's, although admittedly it was due to the fact he was really fun to drink with.

I came out in the late 70's, whoopty freaking doo.....  feel free to throw(ing) stones(wall)

I think what he means is "gay" in the sense that you called other guys "gay" (stupid, ridiculous) in 6th grade but you had no idea what homosexuality was... many dude-bros who love drug band music are just old 6th graders who barely grew up thanks to drugs and their dreams of being like or with Jerry Garcia.

I got in a heated debate w/ the local music store owner on one of our recent trips over what "Butt rock" was.  I was in top 40 cover band in the early 80's and we considered it butt rock...  he didn't buy the store until the late 80's (albums, CDs).  He said the term wasn't used until the 90's.  I went home and looked it up, and there were a pile of definitions out there, though my fave was actually pertaining to rocks stars with very tight pants as part of the schtick...   oh well, the whole thing was pretty gay, as is the long list of what I would consider to be pretty gay bands, like a lot of Butt rock

Jaz, perhaps this is closer to the OP's postulate
