It's pretty lame. The first 3 were in black neighborhoods. The last one was in an affluent neighborhood.

You have to know who did it to call it domestic terrorism.

Domestic terrorism in the United States consists of incidents confirmed as terrorist acts. These attacks are considered domestic because they were carried out by U.S. citizens or U.S. permanent residents.

Can we call it a Terrorist Bombing Campaign?

According to Merriam-Webster, "terrorism is defined as:

"1 : the unlawful use or threat of violence especially against the state or the public as a politically motivated means of attack or coercion. 2 : violent and intimidating gang activity. street terrorism"

So under the established definition, to be "terrorism," the acts need to "politically motivated."   For example, the Unabomber would be classified as a "terrorist" because old Ted was motivated by his hatred of technology and industry.  By contrast, the Son of Sam's shootings, while they certainly terrorized New York, wouldn't be "terrorism" because dude was just bat shit crazy and didn't have any underlying political motives.

In this case, we can only hope the perp(s) will screw up soon, be caught, and a motive can be established.

My question is:

Why do you think they changed the definition of domestic terrorism to having to be "Politically Motivated" in 2003?

Damn! This motherfucker sent the packages from the FedEx store on my side of town. I've given a guy a ride to work there. I'm in that neighborhood somewhat regularly. Asshole! 

Another one just went off! This guy is getting manic and blowing shit up like crazy. This one is slightly closer to home.

I'm not liking what I'm hearing from my Austin friends.

There are so many surveillance cameras these days, and with finding an unexploded bomb at the Fed Ex place, the FBI and ATF will probably have the perp(s) identified in the next 48 hours.   Once identified, the bomber(s) will then probably ratchet it up even more and go out with a bang.

I can't figure out the person's or  people's motivation / technique.  The Jihadists usually go for maximum casualty #'s like blowing up a bar or mall.  These are affecting one or two  people at a time.  Maybe it's some disgruntled former FedEx worker.

Anyway,  they have satellites up there that can read your license plates.  You'd think that they could focus on the section of Austin in question,  and look back at the recordings the days when stuff blew up.

Apparently he blew himself up before being taken.  Really glad that the police got this taken care of as quickly as they did.  Great work.

This type of thing has always seemed to me to be a very effective terror method.  Random and very unsettling, much like the car snipers here on the east coast years back.

The Austin bomber might got the idea watching the Unabomber TV series last fall. 

Glad that's over for the folks in TX. 

Ender, Unabomber is still alive. I forgot he made a deal and got 8 life sentences with no parole

and avoided the death penalty.

Why do you care about how it's labeled? Is this about how the government classifies it in some table? Does your county get extra funding if it's terrorism? 

What gets funded and what doesn't is a good starting place, or which agencies have jurisdiction and how they interact, guerilla vs terrorist is really just semantics, or is it?  We get too hung up on definitions in the propaganda parade following these events (things people take too seriously in terms of following a partisan script, applies more to the school shootings, but...)

I continually see verbal partisan attacks on Hispanics, Blacks, etc, without the backing of credible evidence to make the case (aka, bigotry),  so might as well play the white card as a fuck you to all those playing the other side of the race card.  He targeted "minorities",  so just calling him out on it...    as he's not mentally ill in my opinion, he's a domestic terrorist!!!
