Aug. 7 Shakedown Stream: 7-21-90 w/ Bobby as guest

Forums:

Not sure if I've heard this show before. Looking forward to tonight.

The Grateful Dead will bring a weekly run of Shakedown Stream archival video broadcasts to a close this Friday by airing previously unreleased video of the band’s July 21, 1990 concert at the World Music Theater in Tinley Park, Illinois. Up first will be a pre-show featuring special guest Bob Weir starting this Friday, August 7 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.

Though Shakedown Stream won’t air each week moving forward, the broadcasts will continue periodically. Next up will be an airing of the GD concert film Sunshine Daydream on August 27, which comes 48 years to the day of the show featured in the movie — the band’s August 27, 1972 performance in Veneta, Oregon.

This week’s Shakedown Stream comes as part of a celebration of the Days Between, the span between Jerry Garcia’s birthday on August 1 and the day he died on August 9. Weir and his Grateful Dead band mates began a three-night run in Tinley Park on July 21, 1990. The performances brought their summer tour to a close and would be the last concerts featuring keyboardist Brent Mydland, who tragically died on July 26, 1990.

Thanks for the heads up!

Who is the baby on Phil's shirt?

IDK maybe 1st grandson?

Show was nice. Jerry loved playing with Brent, it shows here.

^^ Possibly Grahame or Brian? Nice dad pants, too!

We were lucky to see Brent's final 6 shows (+ Louisville and Pittsburgh) on this tour.

Last night's broadcast brought back some fine memories, and was better than I remembered. RIP Brent and Jerry.

what's the bracelet on garcia's left wrist?

I'm pretty sure that's Brian on his shirt. Wasn't he born a little earlier that year? Beautiful interplay here indeed.

so stoked on these summer 90's.

that was one of the best decisions i ever made.

would love to see the KY show.

Modulus sounding quick and punchy as ever

Indeed! I never had any regrets over the 6 shows I saw that Summer.....despite having some issues over missing some days of work ("....so, what's going on?!?", said my very cool manager at the time). Ha! Now that would have been a long-winded and eye-opening answer if I chose to provide an honest one.

aprox min @2:18:00 Phil tells Jerry waht's up Changed my life to see that shit and don't regret it

I wasn't at this shoe
