GUEST OF HONOR: WAVY GRAVY

THATS A LOT OF GUITAR PLAYERS! I WONT BE THERE

A little too far for me, 5.5 hour drive.

I've given up on shows at the Ardmore.  Very few good seats (and those are hard to get) which means a long night of standing up.  It's a narrow, long room so you often end up at the back with no view of what's going on.  And it's just far enough away from home to not want to make the trip.  Lots of good shows there but at this point in my life usually not worth the effort.

I copied the text (in caps) from the Ardmore site - so apologies for the shouting....

I live in SF but will be visiting NYC and am seeking a ride to the Ardmore for this show.

If you can't find a ride, the Ardmore is within stumbling distance of the Ardmore Amtrak Station.

Thanks...

Just checking all options and hoping to find a Zoner who might be traveling from NYC or Northern NJ to Philly for this.

I think the Amtrak from Penn Station is about 2 hrs. and 50 bucks.  No idea if they return to NYC late-nite.

Driving is about the same time and $ but not as relaxing.  Maybe more $ with all the tolls.

Have Fun !  Sounds like an interesting lineup.

Thanks all....

I have pals who live near the Ardmore who bought me ticket to this.
Probably just hit the Amtrak from Penn Station as suggested....

If anyone is heading to this from NYC /NJ please ping me.

Needs more Fake Jerry.

Much as I can get actually.

The real Jerry is gone but I got to see quite a lot of him thankfully.

The interest and the spirit remain.

One Fun factoid about Eastern trains --

Any railroad lines that were original Pennsylvania Railroad tracks,  you can bring your own adult beverages for personal consumption.
It's perfectly legal.

Do you have a favorite Fake Jerry?

You can bring them on Amtrak trains but you can only consume them in your own sleeper berth. You are not allowed to drink alcohol in public areas except bar and lounge areas and only alcohol your purchase from Amtrak.

I have attended this past 2 years, always a good time...love The Ardmore, great folks ...always hook me up with a great seat :). ( get there early is key ).  Not going this year as Bromberg's big noise is happening on Sat in Wilmington, Del on the waterfront Los Lobos,Railroad Earth,Amy Helm ...and others !

I love this little festi and it is a bit bigger this year with 2 stages and a "grove" of a beer garden and vending...

Do they do any concerts not GD cover band related at Ardmore?

"... You are not allowed to drink alcohol in public areas except bar and lounge areas and only alcohol your purchase from Amtrak. .."

I was not aware of that,  having only ridden on the NJ Transit trains in recent years.  Some soccer hooligans on the way to Meadowlands were consuming a case of Beer,  and I asked the Conductor if "that was allowed".

Conductor explained about the grandfathered Penn RR rules and how there had been some courtroom / legislation discussions.

Anyway,  when I would take NJT trains up for Phil Nokia shows,  I'd bring a couple cold Beers for the ride.  Beats the $10.00 Budweisers in the venue.

The other option for Philadelphia (or other parts of PA)  would be SEPTA,  which I like for reliable access to Philadelphia Airport.  They've always run right on time for me,  take you right to PHL,  and the parking is quite reasonable.

My buddy will be streaming the show.......liquid silver stream

damn, that is some unlimited devotion....from sf to nyc, to ardmore? haha. to each their own.....nyc is way more fun, no doubt.

also why does kimock choose the absolute worst dead related events to show up? guy is totally checked out.

No - just visiting friends in Philly and this show presents a fun opportunity to hang with them in front of some great musicians.

Truth be told - I see all these peeps at TXR, Sweetwater, GAMH and around the Bay Area with regularity....

And IMHO SK is far from checked out.  He just takes longer to make his musical point then peeps like JK or EK or Lebo.

I guess being negative and critical is what the Zone is for some - but not for me.

Treble, I hope to see you there.

Heat, your jaded, sarcastic, millennial shtick is old

and Ateix does it better. smiley

Is this the old 23 East?

Lookin' forward to it Voodoo....
I'll be the one with the West Coast smile!

"In and Out of the Garden We Go 2018"  is also taking place that weekend.

http://musicatsnipesfarm.com

It's in Morrisville PA,  just west of Trenton across the Delaware River.  It's on a Farm that has spent its last decade as a community educational project...

Went a few years back.  Bunch of Dead cover bands,  small festival,  camping and BYOB.

Might go again this year,  not too far.

millennial shtick? wtf is that?

hope all is well, voodoo man. enjoy your fake jerrys, everybody.

btw kimock played really well there in 2015 doing the legion song book-best i've heard/seen him since early 2000s....love kimock, dude is def sleepy time nowadays imo.
