Anyone been seeing The Magpie Salute?
Forums:
Rich Robinson and Marc Ford, the guitar heart of the Black Crowes, along with Crowes' bassist Sven Pipien, have an album of originals out next month. The band is The Magpie Salute. I heard their first album, which was all covers but excellent twin lead goodness. They have been touring and sounding good from what I hear, but I think a lot of folks who liked the Crowes may not know about them. I am kinda bored with CRB's merely pleasant noodlings, so I'm happy to have the other side of that band back in the mix. I was going to go to the
I was going to go to the Orlando show last year but it was canceled. I have been checking them out on YouTube and it looks like it would be a great night out. They seem to do a lot of covers and there taste in covers is right in my wheelhouse.

I saw them at the Fillmore
I saw them at the Fillmore last year and was surprised by how good they were. The place wasn't even half full and I thought they pretty much rocked the room out.
If you like the Black Crowes I would think you'd love these guys. If you don't like the BCs this band is still a down & dirty rock 'n roll band, and as someone who was never a big Crowes fan I actually liked these guys better.
