Hi all,
I got contacted by a headhunter on LinkedIn over the weekend -- and the opportunity sounds interesting -- I'd get to work from home w/ occasional travel (think: airmiles for future music travel!)
They are asking for my contractor's rate.
Would appreciate advice about % to add for overhead -- my online research shows a range of 30 - 50% for state and federal taxes + healthcare + 401K contribution + paid vacation / holidays.
But I also haven't had a major salary increase in several years (I work for local govt now), and I've always read that if one changes job, the new rate should include a 20-30% baseline increase (not including overhead that a 1099 contractor needs to pay).
My email is in my profile if you'd like to converse outside of Zone.
Thanks!
