I have some gentle giant on vinyl.

I'm not sure i qualify as a youngster

My buddy Len was a gentle giant,  poor guy lost his mind

Haven't heard them in like forever but they entered my mind today for some reason so I posted it here for the kids on this site. These guys were incredibly talented multi-instrumentalists.

A good show from 74

I like Walton

^ What is Walton? A song (or a tall guy that blocks you view at Dead shows)? Me being no expert on the band.

Bill Walton is a gentle giant that played basketball and was damn good at it

And a big deadheads across two dimensions. Is a damn good deadhead.   Always enjoy crossing paths

Apologizes for my humor / distraction

Haven't listened to Gentle Giant for a while now, but definitely enjoyed them during my prog rock phase from yesteryear

^Dementia?

Time to release your Gentle Giant in you! :)

Sheeeeeeeeeeeit I've forgotten more than you'll ever remember son.

Yeah I remember them. Remember the Little River Band ?

That was a cool vid Bill.

Little River Band. What was that popular song they had??

Gentle Giant has never left my rotation since about '75. I frequently play this video of a BBC show to show others how insanely talented  multi instrumentalists they were.

Gentle Giant - On Reflection 1978 BBC [HQ]

I'm no youngster - so of course I remember them. I still listen to them too and it's nice to see I'm not alone - and I still have most of their albums on vinyl.

Wow, Haven't heard them mentioned in a long time! yes

< What was that song they had ?

Don't remember but I do remember they started the show at the Yale Bowl back in ahh I don't remember that either, but it was a summer show, hot as fuck, with about a hundred thousand other heads.  Little River Band opened, Heart followed, then the beagles,, I mean the Eagles. Joe was in particularly fine form. No coolers allowed inside, but being friendly with security got us free reign over anything we could drink,, outside the gate. Made it thru 6 or 7 coolers then time to rock.  Dammm that was a fun day.

Looked em up, Lady + Lonesome Loser were their most played FM tunes.

Back when WPRB, Princeton U. was a giant in the Progressive rock Radio scene (late 1970's -> early 1980's) 103.3 FM.

They would play entire Album sides from various British bands,  so I got to hear all that stuff.

Fast forward to Summer 2019,  and there is a Community Table Garage sale at the Hibernian Lodge parking lot... right near Dog Park.

Picked up a Coleman Propane grill in perfect shape,  and the guy with Giant box of CD's said "Gimme Five bucks for the whole thing".

In there were a couple Gentle Giant CD's,  and they have been played many times on the Barn Stereo.

Watching the giant game yesterday and in some damm commercial,  Supertramp is playing in the background. Haven't thought of that band in years. Always liked em

Remember Focus. The yodeling song.
